We had the holiday apartment, mold in the bedroom, everything was really musty, the electrics were partly defective, we wanted to withdraw and leave with no insight and no refund possible. hands off

A fantastically located restaurant right in the heart of the Kyffhäuser Forest. The restaurant is very easy to find coming from both Frankenhausen and Kelbra. The food tasted extremely good. We were there during game seasons. It was incredibly delicious. Big compliments to the kitchen. From there you can easily reach the panorama but also take a wonderful hiking tour to Kyffhäuser.

My brother and I stayed here for three days (2 nights) in May and were very happy with everything. Friendliness of the staff, prices, rooms, breakfast and dinner. The location is also great, you have to walk a bit from the city, but you are nice in the forest. We'll come back when we get the chance!

We were there as guests of a birthday party. Personally, I have to say that the cake at the coffee table was quite manageable and not homemade. A menu passed across the table and we noticed that the variety from before was noticeably reduced. If you don't feel like eating mushrooms, beans or Mediterranean vegetables, you'll quickly run into problems. The selection seemed quite sparse to us, but we found something. But then suddenly the small evening menu appeared on the table. And over were the tastiest ones on the actual menu. In addition, immediately after the coffee, the staff at the front was reduced from two people to one. Which had an impact on beverage sales in order to be able to reorder. The chairs are also hard and uncomfortable for older people in the long term. We've had better celebrations there. The positive thing was that it tasted at least somewhat, but the portions are quite manageable for good eaters. But the whole thing in general wouldn't entice us to go there again so quickly, since we already knew it much better and were looking forward to it.

Be sure to reserve.We were there for dinner with 7 people. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. Our requests for changes regarding supplements etc. were also taken into account without any complaints.Parking spaces are available.Only the furnishings are a matter of taste ;-)

A great restaurant in an idyllic location in the forest, with a beer garden, very friendly staff, excellent German cuisine (as delicious as Grandma's), cozy atmosphere, clean toilets, only the parking lot is a bit small. We'll definitely be back.

Located just above Frankenhausen in the forest. Seems a bit old-fashioned, but it fits there. Friendly service. We had 2x roast venison with dumplings, which was great 😁Recommended because there is also a lot of space inside.

We (6 people) were guests in transit, in the restaurant - super friendly staff - even though we had to order in advance due to an acute shortage of staff (unfortunately that wasn't mentioned anywhere on the internet), we were served quickly and warmly. Absolute recommendation, the food is great, German home cooking, price/performance is right. We'd love to come back.

The hotel is beautifully located in the forest. Various hikes can be started from there.The whole building itself has seen better days. Everything seems a bit old. We actually wanted to book 2 double rooms via a booking site, but due to an overbooking we were offered the holiday apartment with breakfast. This still has a nice GDR charm, but is in urgent need of renovation. Several lamps don't work and the mattresses are pretty sagging. The double bed seems very wobbly. The bathroom is clean but the joints and silicone in the shower are already black. The wood paneling on the ceiling has traces of mold. There are little things everywhere (heat pull valve) that are defective or missing (e.g. screw on the door fitting). We can't say anything about the kitchen because we didn't cook.In the evening we sat on the terrace which had enough seats but wasn't nice. The steps to the holiday apartment were crumbling, the wall facing the neighboring property was broken, and the lamps didn't work. The toilet in the beer garden is located below the terrace with ventilation to the outside. The smell of the toilet could always be smelled on the terrace.When we paid the bill, we were charged the spa fee for 4 adults even though we were only 2 adults with 2 children and this was stated when booking. I told the employee this, since we had only saved €2, it was more of a tip money for me. Our children 10 & 12 also had to pay in full for breakfast. I know it differently from other accommodations.The employees were otherwise very friendly and wanted to pass on our critical points to the boss.

Quiet hotel rooms are a bit old but it has charm and the Barkas in front of the door rounds everything off, a hotel like in your childhood, very nice breakfast offer

The review only concerns the restaurant; rooms for overnight stay were not booked.The prices in the restaurant are utopian, ridiculous prices and completely unreasonable.So you have to pay more than €8.00 for a really mini-mini-mini-small seasoned meat.This is beyond outrageous!

We wanted to have something to eat outside. After a long wait of about 25 minutes for service, a woman decided to let the waitress in the restaurant know. After waiting several times, she appeared and called to us from 20 meters awaythere is no hot kitchen.Well, service looks somewhat different. Or?Kind regards, Thomas Blechinger

As a motorbiker, perhaps not the clientele that was wanted there. The question about a cup of coffee was answered in the affirmative, placed on the counter and the reference to the terrace one flight of stairs below. No problem for me to carry the coffee myself. Too bad.

We stayed here for a weekend and were completely satisfied with everything. The food and breakfast were good, only the room was quite small and from the window there was only 1 meter of space to the hill where there was a sauna and the drain pipe went past our room. So whether you look out the basement window. We really didn't like that.The many stuffed animals are a matter of taste, but I found it suitable for the restaurant, which is beautifully located in the middle of the forest.Price/performance okay 👍🏻

I'm of two minds here: the hotel is getting really old and the rooms urgently need to be renovated. The bathrooms were recently renovated and are small but good. The service is very friendly and helpful, the food is also delicious. The breakfast was manageable but okay. The ambience is a matter of taste, if you like hunting trophies on display, this is the place for you. It's not mine.
