In itself a great hotel. The rooms are quite spacious and a big plus in my opinion is that there is no carpeting. That is more hygienic and less serious for a dust mite allergy. The bathroom is on the small side and not 100% clean.The breakfast was fine, also enough choice for vegetarians. Dinner in the restaurant was even better, tasted good and very friendly service.That says it all. I am 34 weeks pregnant and have been lucky to sleep 4 hours a night. The upstairs neighbors were extremely noisy, walked like elephants through the room late at night and early in the morning and we could easily listen in on their conversation. We reported this to reception and they would speak to the guests if they would stay another night, but the next evening/night it was exactly the same story. We also received no feedback from the staff.The top mattresses on the bed are, as stated in other reviews, very soft and slide off the bed very easily. As soon as you lie on the bed there is already a hole in the middle. The top mattresses are also so soft that I had difficulty turning at 34 weeks pregnant with painful hips. Furthermore, the room was not very clean, there was a stain in a duvet cover, the curtains had stains and our bathroom door was damaged.All in all, we would not stay here again when we visit Texel again. I think there are better options to be found on this beautiful island.

We were sent away because there was no room, but there was a room for the people who came in after us (also not reserved).We were able to get on the waiting list with a 2 hour wait.What unfair service.....left very dissatisfied.Typical of Valk, choke on your cherry...

Excellent location and friendly staff. The food was also very tasty, especially the extensive breakfast. Rooms are fine but starting to become a bit dated. The only downside is that we thought it was very expensive this weekend.

Neat apartment.Just a pity that there was no dividing wall on the terrace or balcony. The neighbors both smoked, so you could close the windows and sliding door when they were sitting outside. Otherwise it smelled terribly of smoke inside. Too bad...no further problems and we enjoyed it too.

Booked a room for midweek with dog. Nice large room, rug / toy / treats for the dog.Very dog friendly.👍Everything super clean and tidy.Beds also good.Reception very friendly.Dinner and breakfast perfect, staff also great.The only downside if you don't have a bike, the village and beach are too far to walk for a short tour.But other than that, I will definitely come back here again 🌷😁

We had booked an apartment for a week. No. 48. It was a beautiful apartment on the ground floor. The beds were good. And the bed linen was clean. The apartment itself could have had more attention in terms of hygiene. It wasn't really clean. There was some mold on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom. The floor there was also not clean. Especially a lot of dust and dust/spider nests. This could also be found in the other rooms, unfortunately.It was very nice that the apartment was on the ground floor, so you had a beautiful terrace and lawn in front of the door. Unfortunately, we had to share it with the neighbors (who smoked outside quite often, we are not smokers), so we could not leave the sliding door or windows open, otherwise everything inside would smell of smoke.A good solution for this is a partition between the terraces. Place a screen, from ceiling to ground, so you don't have to worry about it.I hope Van der Valk does something about this, because we have read this before in the reviews.We also rented bicycles, and they were very pleasant.The staff we spoke to were very friendly.Overall, we will definitely come back here again. Perfect location, close to the beach and adjacent villages.

I had high expectations of the Van der Valk Hotel. However, only bicycle rental facilities are available, no swimming pool, no gym and no wellness.Upon entering our hotel room, the bathroom smelled like dog, not a very pleasant welcome smell.The breakfast is also highly praised, but was disappointing compared to other Van der Valk hotels. The buffet is not extensive at all. The pancakes and bread were delicious, nothing special. In addition, it is sometimes so busy that there is almost no place available to sit.The rooms are nice and big, the staff is friendly.Walls are not soundproof, you hear everything that happens in the room next to you.The parking lot was also completely full several times, so you had to improvise a parking space yourself.The location was very ideal.Bicycle rental was strongly recommended, but there was little maintenance to be seen. The tires were flat, the handlebars were covered in dirt and cobwebs and after 2 hours of cycling I had bruises from the saddle.All in all, I expected better from a Van Der Valk hotel.The menu is mediocre, considering there is little choice. No vegetarian or vegan options on the menu. This seems to be a problem in Texas.

Excellent, neat and clean hotel. However, the beds did have serious bedsores... The restaurant was overcrowded, meaning that as a hotel guest you could not have a drink/cup of coffee around half past eight.Friendly staff, but very poor service. Rented bicycles on the Van Der Valk site, but due to an error in the system (at vdV or the bicycle company) there were no bicycles available. The hotel sent us to the bicycle rental company, because “we had to arrange it ourselves”. Strange and bad service. Due to the enormous crowds, we waited 1.5 hours there. In the end it was arranged, but we could only cycle for 2 days instead of the original 3. Nothing was heard of compensation or anything like that.
