I'm rarely motivated to write a review, but I'm happy to make an exception here.I chose Norderney for a short vacation and came across this hotel by chance.The Hotel New Wave is centrally located, the center of the island and the beach can be reached in just a few minutes.My room was modern and lovingly furnished and had a flat-screen TV, a modern shower and a large box spring bed (I haven't slept so well in a long time). Everything was clean and there was even a sweet welcome gift. :)The house provides towels and bathrobes.The staff is friendly and helpful. That's how it should be.On the last day I discovered the roof terrace and it left me speechless. On the terrace you have a wonderful view over Norderney including a view of the sea. I will definitely sip one or two cocktails here on my next visit.We can only recommend this hotel!See you soonK.K

Finally a hotel that does what it promises. Rooms and facilities are great. The breakfast is also great. The RoofTop Bar is definitely recommended. A fine place to end the day relaxing.It's not for nothing that the Oktopussy restaurant is recommended in the Michelin Guide.

The best hotel on the entire island!!We have been going to the New Wave on Norderney for several years because it is convincing in every respect!Great, modern & beautifully designed rooms, outstanding service, fantastic breakfast buffet and perfect proximity to the beach & town.The hotel manager Michael makes the impossible things possible & does a uniquely good job.Thank you very much, we would be happy to come back at any time!

We received a very friendly welcome and were able to enjoy our holiday right from the start. The hotel is very nicely decorated. The breakfast is not cheap, but you get a very extensive breakfast buffet with lots of fresh fruit and scrambled eggs/omelettes.

For us as a family (2 adults + 1 child) one of the best hotels on Norderney! Very friendly staff, great rooms, 1a cleanliness, best location… + top restaurant + a rooftop bar! What more do you want! Your vacation begins on the ferry… because you know what you can look forward to! 🤗

I was at New Wave for the first time at the beginning of May, although I have been visiting the island of Norderney for over 50 years. The room was great and the breakfast service was particularly pleasant.However, we ate in the restaurant once and were pretty disappointed!The service was a disaster, no wine was poured, the empty plates were only cleared away when asked and we weren't even asked if we would like to order dessert.Of course we complained, but were brushed off with empty platitudes.We then had our dessert in another restaurant, where we received a very friendly welcome.Shame about the money!!!

Nice hotel in the upper price segment. The rooms are beautifully designed and sufficiently large, and the room service is thorough and courteous. The breakfast is really good and the service staff are polite and accommodating.There was a bit of chaos on the day of arrival, there was no reference to the bathhouse voucher and how it would expire. However, this worked well when asked. The tourist tax can be paid at the hotel, so you save yourself a trip.Now the negative experience:When you leave, just go to reception and pay the bill. I was astonished when I was quoted an amount more than 20% above the price we had booked. After pointing out our booking, we started looking for the error.The answer: We would have used breakfast for the child but not booked it!The answer couldn't fit... In the booking system you only have the option of clicking on "breakfast", there is no further differentiation there. But that couldn't fit either, the sum of the tourist tax and children's breakfast doesn't make up 20%.In the end we paid an amount slightly above our booking price.That's better and, by the way, it's really fun on the last day of vacation...
