We are thrilled. We were greeted very friendly here with our 2 boys (4 and 2). Were taken to our room. The owner is very friendly and loves children. At breakfast there is something for everyone, from fruit to salami.Beds are very comfortable. The furnishings are older, but that's exactly what a Harz vacation is all about. We feel very comfortable at Pension Cecilie and will definitely come back.

The furnishings of the pension are no longer up to date. However, very good mattresses, spacious with a seating area and very clean. The breakfast is varied and plentiful. The owner was very nice and check-in was quick and easy. We would definitely book here again.

Booked as a hiking stop on the Hexenstieg. External appearance very much in need of renovation and therefore not very inviting. The hostess was very friendly but unfortunately our room was in need of renovation, as was the outside facade.-Holes in walls and wallpaper, stuck windows, heating not working properly.Unfortunately our room was not only very old but also not clean.- found moldy fruit from previous guests and several flies in the bathroom. Shower mat dirty. The breakfast, on the other hand, was really great! Good.WiFi didn't work. Here you can ONLY pay on site and in CASH!! Not up to date for us.Unfortunately, we cannot recommend it overall.

Here you have to clearly put price and performance in the foreground. Service top, very nice service and service. If we are in Braunlage again, we will probably stay here again.

It was very nice, but what a woman has to do - you can only take your hat off - she is absolutely hardworking. Excellent.

We were in Braunlage for a long weekend. One has to say about the place that its golden times must have been in the 70's. Not much renovation has been done since then. Many run-down or abandoned houses and shops. However, the ice rink and ski slope on the Wurmberg are still well attended. From Braunlage you can easily reach other destinations such as Goslar or Wernigerode. Both cities have beautiful old towns. And of course the Broken. Either on foot or with the Brokenbahn. Always worth a visit. Even if the consequences of climate change can be clearly seen here. Dead spruce forests everywhere. It's really heartbreaking. But we were told that new life awakens in such places. Hope remains. The hotel is also probably from the 70's, as are the furnishings. Worn carpets, old furniture. No WiFi and no EC payment possible. The heating wasn't the best either. Our room was on the second floor. You could already feel the temperature difference in the stairwell. But the room was nice and big and bright. Everything was very clean. The hostess was very friendly. And the breakfast buffet was really very rich.In conclusion, we will definitely come back to the Harz again.

Well, yes it is an old boarding house. Although we do not need WLAN, we were surprised that even though they advertised it on the website, they did not have it. We recommend checking before hiring if you need this service for work issues.Good breakfast.Room with old furniture but clean.
