Came on Saturday for my birthday. It’s a fantastic modern hotel set right in the centre, steps from restaurants and bars. Room was large and comfortable. We’d definitely come again! It had everything we needed. Staff very helpful. Nice view out the window.

Bathroom smelt of pure sewage. Had a 4 person room with 2 double beds! Nope, we had 1 double bed one sofa pull out bed that was like sleeping on sharpe metal springs. Rather sleep on cardboard in a doorway, would have been better than room 421! Location is fantastic though.

We recently enjoyed a fantastic two night stay while in town to watch the cricket at Headingley, the facilities and staff in general were amazing. However must make special mention of Meghan who greeted us for breakfast each morning. Her welcoming smile and conversation has left us with such a positive memory of our visit to Leeds. Please ensure Meghan receives recognition of this feedback.

Lovely hotel, in a good location, next to the Light leisure complex and handy for the city centre. Nice, big room in good state of repair. …

Not very good. TV remote broken, two hours to replace. Stayed for dinner, menu was small and food poor. Double room was two lumpy singles pushed together. Room was dusty. Shower pressure rubbish. Think that’s the main things, I would stay there again.. oh and breakfast food wasn’t very good, cups were old and dirty

The staff that work at this place deserve an award for their customer service! Me and my partner came here for a weekend away and the hotel staff did exactly what I asked for and much much more. I cannot express in words how much it meant to myself and her, you are all an absolute credit to the company. I hope someone in your management sees this review and you all get the praise you deserve. We highly recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness, customer service, room size and much more. We will definitely be coming back here for many years to come. Thank you once again!

Firstly, the couple pros:The reception staff were kind and helpful. The location was fantastic, The Light is a beautiful complex with plenty of food and shopping. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the University of Leeds, about 10 minutes from the city center, but off the most trafficked path. Now for the cons:The offered services are often misleading. For example, the handout they give you when you check in says access to the gym in The Light is complimentary for guests, but it is actually 8£ for a one day pass. Laundry services are offered, but I don’t know what they can actually provide as pressing was on the list but when I asked about it, they don’t do that. The restaurant was operating on an extremely limited menu, just pizzas. The reception staff were doing their best but it seemed like their hands were tied. The hotel was also in disrepair, buttons were missing on the elevator, a lot of the furniture and door frames had varnish damage or some splintering, and the drains were barely functional. Water pooled up in the shower and sink until it reached the backup drain. The plate on the steam iron in the room has significant corrosion on it. The rods for pulling the curtains open and closed had broken free of the curtains. One of the metal shades on a bedside lamp was falling off.Something was seriously wrong here on either management or corporate’s end, as the state of the hotel did not reflect the price or reputation of Radisson Blu.

A nice lobby and seating area in the bar but the bar shuts very early. Often no cocktails or tea/ coffee due to staff shortages. A great city centre location but taxi drop off is difficult due to pedestrianisation and a one way system. If you have bags or mobility issues insist you are dropped off in Cookridge street and walk round to the front of the hotel for a step free journey. A quiet hotel mostly but see the details. Chronically short staffed and poorly maintained. And strange budget cuts such as no hand soap in the rooms. They have also removed all the kettles and tea and coffee from the rooms. Luxury this is not, upgrade if you can. The lovely restaurant is no longer operating. Room service often ends early by 8pm and today at 7pm and the menu is limited to two pizzas- nothing vegan or gluten free. Due to its location it is busy so they are not incentivised to improve and this hotel has gone from being an excellent luxe hotel to shabby and lacking in atmosphere or facilities. It feels like it is not as good as one of the budget chain hotels. A disappointment as the hotel continues to deteriorate over the years. Staff are polite but resigned to the poor maintenance and short staffing problems and so can be apathetic. As the location makes the hotel busy, issues continue as it is clearly not impacting on performance yet. The management continues to make cuts by bizarrely removing soap and kettles, so a budget or cheaper hotel becomes a far better cheaper option. Recruitment may be an issue or they may also be making cuts in staffing levels, who knows. There are many good hotels in this area so I’d recommend looking around before booking here, a shame as it could be the best hotel in Leeds.

Staying at Raddison Blu at present supposed to be a junior suite certainly not as advertised only one chair no table no biscuits on tea tray no coffee on tea tray very disappointing as booked this as a birthday weekend treat. Complained at reception got 30000 points but after this disappointment at a Raddison hotel I don’t know if I will book again certainly not a cheap stay, no restaurant for a meal after a long day. The only positive the staff try their best and are pleasant and friendly and the room is clean but certainly not a junior suite not even a superior room if you must stay here do yourself a favour and just book a standard room the others are not worth the money
