Arrived in August last year no staff to be seen was let in by a man who moments earlier was painting outside it was a hot time 35 degrees no bar open was told by the same man it was closed as no staff on until the next day. No means of getting a cold drink. I requested a fan for my brother’s room this was refused because of energy bills I was paying £90 a night each. The an said we should go to a travel lodge if we wanted different facilities. We are OAP’s . We were dehydrated tired after the journey and hungry .No biscuits for the coffee tea facilities no bath mat or adequate toiletries. My brother and I had driven for about 4.5 hrs to get to this place and the website showed folk having afternoon tea but there was nothing on offer. My brother and I had to go to a restaurant for our meals and drinks. No lounge facilities but a dark room also a ladder in the conservatory and a bike leaning against the bar, unbelievable. The man who was the person who booked us in replied when I asked what times was breakfast he said 9 and I asked until when he said 9 so no flexibility on time.We had a terrible night and God’s knows who was manning the place. Only saw a couple the next morning at 8.30 still no staff no evidence of breakfast pervading smells. No evidence of tables set up.. We left I put my case to the owner the only time we saw him. when I was paying the bill he wasn’t interested. We didn’t stay for breakfast should have stayed 2 nights cost me £180.for nothing.I put a review I on trip advisor at the time. Disgusted .

Lovely hotel fantastic view and lovely breakfast. Have stayed here several times now for a short break and can highly recommend. Nothing is too much trouble for Jon Paul and his staff. There is so much to do in Babbacombe and lots of lovely walks and we always find something we have never seen before.

We had a great stay over the bank holiday Easter weekend. The sea view we had in the front bedrooms was fabulous- the best sea view room I’ve had. The breakfast was lovely as well. On a par with any other hotel in the area- maybe it’s even better. The staff were very friendly too

Can not recommend highly enough. Was left absolutely desperate after our boat suffered a mechanical failure and ended up in dry dock where we couldn’t sleep on it. Another hotel let us down and everywhere was full. …

When I booked it was for myself and a family member. At the time of booking the owner quoted me £90 for each person per night for bed and breakfast. I did ask if there were any cheaper rooms. …

Food was disappointing for the price my brother & I paid, the only good thing about it was the room we paid a deposit on beginning of October then the rest was paid after the occasion 🙃 it was an ideal size with a bar.We did our mum proud it was her dying wish to have her wake here & it was a bittersweet day but with lots of sad & happy memories 😢 💙 ❤She died last November 2020 but because of covid we couldn't have her wake then, she had a good send off though & I'm sure she was raising a glass in heaven, god bless you mum ❤

Excellent scones, jam and cream, sitting on the terrace looking out over the sea in the glorious sunshine. Staff couldn't have been friendlier / more helpful, and service very prompt on a busy bank holiday afternoon. Perfect!

I found myself in Torquay on a motorcycle tour of the uk and wanted to stay another night. |The hotel I was in (very average) didn’t have any rooms so I took along the road and came across the morning side. …
