I arrived at 3:00 and I was able to check in straight away, I was shown my room and informed about everything I needed for my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, with TV, kettle, tea, coffee, etc. I found the room to be very quiet, considering how close it is to a busy road I expected some noise. There was free parking. I would return to this hotel.

Fabulous budget hotel! Friendly manager, newly refurbished (just one or two floor coverings awaiting replacement once all the other works are finished), extremely clean, very comfortable bed, hot shower with soft fluffy towels, new air …

Scam hotel. I have reported the owner to booking.com and they're considering banning this hotel from their website due to fraud. There is no policy about any 15 pound per an hour fee anywhere on the booking. The owner wanted to charge 15 pound per an hour after to check in 2200. Due to them closing the front door early. I was getting in at midnight, which would have cost. 30 pounds. This is insane and against the fraudulent misrepresentation act.I have asked for a refund but the owner cancelled my booked so I couldn't use it and then refused refund.

Stayed at OYO Gissons lovely quaint hotel, nice and clean. The manager Luka was very warm and welcoming, showed us to our room and explained the security details for entering and leaving the building, informed us as it can get hot we can either use the newly fitted air-conditioning or the table top fans.

We were a bit worried about the negative reviews while booking Gisson for a night stay. When we arrived, the door was locked. But we could call the reception/ the number written on the door to get inside. We were greated by a very happy and friendly guy and he took us to the room. We could understand that the room was renovated. The hotel was accomodative of out requests and gave us a big family room for a bed sharing child. We did experience most of what other reviews said like floor panels not perfectly set, little bit of spider webs, cracks on the ceiling, curtains not perfectly fit ( i used some pins to stick them togethor), toilet not flushing completely, but we would never complain as we got more that what we expected for a night's stay. There was hot water on the taps, neat toilet, good bed and pillow, Smart TV, free wifi, aircon, fanand a good location. Nothing to complain for the money we paid and for the quick response and consideration that the hotel provided

I was looking for a budget hotel in Exeter and found The OYO Gissons. It’s not actually in Exeter city but in a small hamlet/village called Kenn or Kennford. But it’s only about 10 mins drive from the city.I was apprehensive about my stay because last check in was stated as 10pm and I knew I wouldn’t get there until after then. A quick call and the manager put me at ease saying he would be there to open up if I called 5mins before. There’s a pay car park next to the hotel but once you register at the hotel desk the it’s free. The actual hotel room is lovely. My room was on the top floor, a converted attic space. The decor and furnishings all seemed new and good quality. Bed was super comfy. The downsides here are that there’s no breakfast or bar or receptionist t service of any kind. The manager explained the situation to me and frankly, I’m totally ok with a room only hotel. I quite liked the self sufficient way I just let myself in and out using the keycard and number code. The neighbouring Exeter Court hotel were more than happy to accept me as a walk in breakfast punter. One other downside is the constant roar of traffic from the A38 which is pretty much the M5 motorway outside. Even at night there traffic was constant. But weirdly it helped me sleep fine since it was just white noise.Overall lots of pros and cons to consider but I can’t fault the quality of the hotel itself.

The hotel looks empty with closed sign on door. No facilities.|Only went to use the EV chargers in their car park. Says free 1 hour. But you still have to pay £4.00 to park. Instavolt should ashamed to be associated with this hotel.|People are being hammered with parking fines to charge EVs

The Gissons is conveniently located, and looks nice from the outside, but when you look a little closer cracks start to appear. We were in Room 108, and experienced a number of small issues that one their own wouldn't amount to much but all together made quite a frustrating stay!* The floor was in awful condition, peeling up and with swollen seams* There were only 2 (very soft) pillows on the double bed, and nowhere to get more* The curtains were hung incorrectly, and so let lots of light in* The light switch by the bed was only on one side, and it was miles away from the bedside!* There was only one lamp.* The third window glaze didn't fit correctly and let in as much sound whether open or closed (the hotel is right next to a fast road)* There was no bin in the room! Even a small waste bin would have been nice.* The hand soap on the sink was a pick up and squirt type - felt very "cheap"* The toilet brush was a bargain basement affair, falling out of its holder which was full of yellowy green liquid* The toilet had 2 old bowl freshener things in* The toilet barely flushed - clearly there was something wrong with it* You could hear every small tap and footstep from the floor above. Earplugs are a must.* There was no "do not disturb" sign in the roomAnd so much more.If these relatively small problems were fixed it would be a lovely place!Probably great if you have an electric car as there were loads of electric charging points.
