The hotel was conveniently placed in the centre of Plymouth but I almost missed it as the entrance is just one door. The room was excellent as was the bed and facilities. …

We had two big rooms which were comfortable and clean. The position is right in the middle of town which was perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful, even though there had been a big issue with a number of rooms being overbooked and subsequently cancelled (including two of ours) but we managed a work around solution and all managed to have a bed in the two big rooms that hadn’t been cancelled. Long story short, make sure you book directly through OYO and not a travel agent/3rd party!

Great stay! all the staff where helpful and made me feel welcome. Breakfast variety was good. Location is excellent as it is right in the town centre with lots of shops near by as well as lots of places close by to eat at. Rooms where very clean and had everything in the room we needed.

I was in Plymouth recently and as a last minute booking, OYO was the only option without breaking up my stay over 2 hotels so opted for it.The hotel is / was clearly some form of office block or work environment which has been hastily readied into accommodation. My room slept 5, with 2 quick assemble camp beds; one up against the 'window'.The window was actually a misted glass panel that looked into another hallway and didn't open. There was also no air conditioning when I stayed so the room was stuffy and hot. Boiling hot. When mentioned at reception they gave me a fan and suggested they'd look into changing rooms - to no avail. The whole place is humid and smells like it too.Air con is to be fitted post-visit according to the staff on reception. I must add that all the staff were incredibly polite to me - but there were a few signs up suggesting they may not have been treated as politely back. The room itself was clean enough to pass, although the fan was covered in dust, which I swapped. The bathroom was nice enough - hastily thrown together like the rest of the building. The toilet seat didn't fit, the mirror was meant to be in the wall, the light didn't turn off while the extraction fan didn't turn on. The double bed was two singles placed side by side that slipped apart in the night. To the best of my knowledge, no housekeeping cleaned the room during my 5 night stay as the bin / bedding was left.I had to return to reception on all but one return to the room as the key wouldn't allow me access to my room - again, all seemed hastily prepared. There was no safe in the room too. This combined lead me to keep personal belongings on me at all times.Upon my arrival at the front desk an older lady was questioning the hotels use as shelter for those seeking homes - which was denied by the staff. This is clearly the case as there are personal belongings and people loitering in the communal areas and is confirmed in the other reviews of this hotel.I must stress I have no issue with this at all; I'm aware people need accommodation and I'm glad they've somewhere warm to sleep that meets basic levels of living standards opposed to on sofas or on streets. Genuine credit to OYO for that. However I do wish this was specified on the booking / website as this did come with its own 'issues'.The hotel is loud during the night and the early hours. Conversations across hallways and music playing, TVs blaring 24/7. Children / young people up very early in the morning. Much more than a usual hotel. There's clearly a sound-proofing issue that needs addressing and means getting quality sleep is near impossible. There is also a constant smell of weed, especially on the first floor and the aforementioned personal belongings in communal areas and people loitering outside of their rooms.I assume the price per night is high so that OYO can charge the same rate to the council / charities. Although apparently the rate is cheaper if you book at the hotel opposed to online.I'm not sure I got value for money on my stay and wouldn't recommend. All hastily thrown together, too loud and not up to the price point paid.

The hotel is in an unappealing part of the city. The entrance feels like a hostel. ||A twin room cost me just shy of £100 for the night, for which I got a dark and stuffy room with a high, thin, un-openable window at one end. …

Pros- Location is convenient in the city centre and the staff were really friendly. Good price for what we had booked. We got the larger room for a couple of nights that had an accessible private wet room and balcony area. It was clean and tidy upon arrival.Note: The entrance to the hotel isn’t obvious as it blends in with the shops so we did walk past it by accident.Cons- we discovered that the tv didn’t have a remote control and the red cords that are meant to be touching the floor were all tied up so in a case of emergency, this would have been a problem. Also the hotel are currently having some work done so when we came back after a day out and wanted some peace and quiet, we heard drilling around 9pm. There was a sign in the lobby but nothing was stated this may be an inconvenience on the booking. As for breakfast, the breakfast area is on the 1st floor where the building work was taking place so we had to dodge workmen in the hallways and walk across plastic sheeting. From the lift, it felt like we were walking all around before we got to the breakfast area- feeling like a maze. Breakfast was ok but it was mainly cereal, toast, pastries, coffee/tea and the last remaining dregs of orange juice.Lastly, as the hotel is in the centre we did notice individuals hanging outside the doors which was a little worrying.I feel if this hotel was a little more towards the harbour area, this would be a little nicer.

Best experience in Plymouth with my friend staying at this hotel. It was a fist choice from Booking and the best choice. The front of house team were very professional and helpful with us at all times which made us feel welcomed and comfortable. The lifts were so cleaned and the corridor floor as well. The warmth of radiators felt so perfect considering the cold season, moreover we had the opportunity to control the temperature for our best comfort. The bedroom was so cleaned and we’ve received towels that were well welcomed. We were impressed about the cleanest of both bathroom and showers. Did I mention that the breakfast was included? And what a great breakfast we had. Would definitely visit again Plymouth and stay in this hotel).

I had one of my worst nights sleep in a hotel ever. I appreciate it is not the hotel’s fault but there was a loud and continuous argument verging on violent from around 11:00 to 4:00am that resumed around 7:00. The breakfast room included a notice guests should not come down in Pajamas. Who stays in this hotel?I for one will never stay in this hotel again.

Stayed twice here, once with a friend for a night out and once with my partner. Ideal location and chargeable parking only a few minutes away. Staff are always so friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, modern and spacious. We had an accessible room the first stay which was massive and had a fully accessible bathroom/wet room, the second room was spacious but smaller as was a standard double room. Would definitely stay again
