We stayed with the Sidmouth Harbour Hotel for the week of our wedding July 24 and could not recommend the team or the hotel more if you are planning and event or a weekend get away!Working with the Harbour Hotel team was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Charlotte the events coordinator was incredibly organised and kept us on track throughout the planning process. On the day of the wedding, everything went flawlessly thanks to Charlotte and her team. They managed all the details, allowing us to relax and enjoy our day.The view from the lawn was spectacular and exactly what we was looking for when choosing a venue, plus with access to the spa and top deck restaurant we knew we would be in for a treat for the week that we stayed with them. Sidmouth is a gorgeous and we can't wait to return!Overall, the Sidmouth Harbour Hotel provided a magical setting for our wedding. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful place to celebrate their special day. Thank you again to the team!

Fantastic hotel in an absolutely stunning location. It was a wonderful experience from the moment we entered the front door to be greeted by an amazing smell and friendly and helpful staff. We were shown to our room with the lovely member of staff carrying our bags. The room was fabulous, extremely comfortable beds, lovely balcony with sea views and even complimentary gin and tonic. The facilities were top notch and staff super helpful throughout our stay. Can't wait to come back.

A very nice place which is mostly kept together quite well. A decent bar, good atmosphere, nice facilities. Breakfast… £10 for the full english just not worth it as it’s not composed of good enough quality ingredients and poorly prepared.

We had such a lovely weekend away as a pre-wedding break. The hotel is gorgeous and the views are amazing! The hotel is decorated beautifully and the rooms are so stylish. When we arrived we found out that we had been upgraded to a seaview suite and they had left a beautiful chocolate decoration to wish us well for our wedding. They really did go above and beyond! The breakfast is great and the cooked breakfast is very good value and delicious! All the restaurant staff are so friendly and helpful. Couldn't recommend more and we can't wait to come back - thank you!

I would give it a 3.5 if I could. Overall, we did have a nice stay.Firstly, the good things. The location is fantastic, overlooking a beautiful beach. The dining/bar area is lovely with gorgeous views. The breakfast was fantastic - you could order a hot dish then have whatever you fancied from the continental buffet. We booked a sea view room which looked pretty good and had a nice big bed. We had a little shared balcony at the side of the hotel so sea view was a bit limited but not really an issue. But the rooms are just a bit naff - the walls are paper thin (we could hear our neighbours chatting and bashing around) and there is no air conditioning. We were hot in the night in March, god knows what the rooms must be like in the summer! We ate in the restaurant one night and I had a very sad, dry little shepherd’s pie that was mega expensive for what it was. It’s not a bad hotel but they position themselves as luxury which I just don’t think it lives up to. We took advantage of the 3 nights for the price of 2 offer which was still over £500 - I would have been really disgruntled if I had paid full price.

Took a friend for lunch at the hotel yesterday. The view of the coastline is unbeatable. Sadly, the details of this hotel let it down; it is firmly in the category of “faded glory”.The chairs in the dining area are dirty along the tops. Virtually all of them look grubby. The pool is covered with plastic, ruining the photos and general ambiance of the outdoor space. The three large photos adjacent to the dining room were in disrepair, one being quite skewed with its edges torn and crushed. The baseboards look like they haven’t been cleaned in ages, especially in the corners. It’s as if they think people won’t notice, so they haven’t bothered. The waitstaff, although extremely friendly, are poorly trained. No one asked if we took sugar with our coffee, and I had to hunt down someone to bring us ketchup when lunch arrived. The waiter had no idea what was on their club sandwich (the only sandwich available for lunch!), so I can’t imagine he would know anything about allergens either. My friend didn’t fancy tea with her cream tea and asked for a cappuccino instead. “Oh no, that’s not possible. Sorry, you must order it separately.”We did order two cream teas for after lunch. They were brought on a single plate with shared jam and cream and no side plates. It was cold by the time we got to it. None of the lunch dishes were cleared away, so we had it at a cluttered table. Lastly, and most idiotic, they have listed afternoon tea on the menu. We tried to order two. Again, “Sorry, no, you must book an afternoon tea 24 hours in advance.” As someone who was a catering manager for a major organization with responsibility for six restaurants, including two fine dining locations, I can confirm this is ridiculous. The hotel lost money that day due to ill-preparedness. If you can’t serve something immediately, especially something as simple as afternoon tea, get it off the menu. It’s not like the ingredients need to be flown in. There are many ways to make an amazing afternoon tea; I suggest the management pick one that customers can actually access. On a positive note, again, the staff were very friendly. The chips were well done as requested, the toiletries in the bathrooms smell lovely, and the coffee from the cafetière was good.In conclusion, the restaurant could be much busier, but the details are letting them down. A thorough clean, proper retraining of the staff, and a laser focus on customer delight is all it would take.

It's a well located hotel, very close to the promenade. We thoroughly enjoyed the spa, and indoor and outdoor pools. The food was excellent, but the service was slow due to the lack of waiting staff. We were ignored by the bar man when we wanted a drink, while we were waiting for the table to be prepared. We really appreciated the chilled wine, and the note for our birthday, in the room when we arrived.

Our booking, made and fully paid for 4 months prior to our stay, was cancelled by the hotel 3 weeks before our visit.Their reason being the hotel was booked for film crew and they were very sorry etc etc! They did offer another date or another hotel in the group instead in a completely different area. No good to us!On top of this refund will be issued in 7-12 days. Not happy, as had to be the dates and area we had booked so had to find alternative hotel at very short notice, (which cost us more).Miserable customer treatment.

A lovely hotel in a great location. We stayed in a large inland double room which was really nice. Had a great meal in the Upper Decks Restaurant. Visited the Spa and even had a swim in the outside pool. Would love to stay at this hotel again!
