A fabulous trip back in time to the 1920's, this hotel had everything to offer. There was time to relax in the bar and lounge as well as fabulous bedrooms with a sea view and in our case our own balcony.  …

This was for a special birthday treat.Lovely Art deco hotel, that is accessible either by Hotel cars via a causeway or by a sea tractor. The rooms have thirties themes and original furniture.Very friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Great food and a very relaxed atmosphere. We were also blessed with great weather.Highly recommended.

We walked across the causeway for quite an expensive afternoon tea. The decor in the hotel transported you to a glamorous, bygone age. The Art Deco building and grounds overlooking the sea are well worth exploring. Service was friendly, professional and attentive. Perfect for a special occasion.

Truly excellent staff and service. Location obviously unique and spectacular. Food was also uniformly delicious. Only slight disappointment was the decor in the room we had which was not up to the standard seen elsewhere. Understand that renovations are in progress and that this is a period building but it did feel a little tatty.

Three friends experiencing afternoon tea, celebrating a "special" birthday. Staff were extremely helpful, very inviting, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel is incredible, beautifully furnished, fantastic art deco decoration, you do feel you are back in the 1920's. A visit is a must.

We visited with a tour group and enjoyed a delicious cream tea at the Burgh Island Hotel. The decor is glorious, dripping with 1930s glamour and style. The food was brought out on stylish tiered trays, and was delicious. The waiting staff were delightful, and they dealt very well with my dairy intolerance. Everything about this experience was really special.

The service at Burgh Island Hotel is amazing. From checking in with a glass of champagne, to them mentioning food allergies, to serving gorgeous food. Your suitcase is taken off you when you park your car, to then appear in your room. Whether arriving in the 4x4 or the sea tractor. All was enjoyable. Sit with a cocktail and enjoy the view, swim in the mermaid rock pool or wander around the island. A delight.

It's tricky to express how wonderful the staff at this unique venue are. From their very first welcome driving us over from the mainland, to the goodbye as we started our journey home, we were treated like true royalty. My mum has declining mobility but their patience and care meant she could join us and enjoy the afternoon as much as anyone, revelling in the delight of finally getting to visit Burgh Island Hotel. Thank you all. We'll be back again, hopefully to try out the rooms next time!

Afternoon tea with friends for two special birthdays. We had a fabulous time. The hotel is not pretentious as some may imagine. It is a beautiful place and well worth going to. Would have loved to see the rooms but we'd gone for lunch and they had a rather special guest so imagine security was tight. The staff are very well trained and excellent. The champagne afternoon tea was perfect too. Tea or coffee available which is great to see too. Highly recommend going.

We visited the hotel in August for cocktails in the cocktail bar that looks out over the sea. The decor in the bar is beautiful and the staff are 10/10. The cocktail menu is varied and the 2 i had were delicious and refreshing. I cant wait to go back for an afternoon tea and weekend retreat.
