Absolutely VILE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.Whilst this may seem like a “cheap and cheerful” hotel, and the pictures may seem okay as advertised online it is the complete opposite. Absolute health hazard. At the reception desk checking in we were met with possibly the roughest people you could imagine with a strong stench of urine in the waiting area. We were then given room 21, which we went to hoping the room would be at least okay for a one night stay. We entered the room to be met with an unmade room, no bedding and towels and sheets just thrown everywhere. We then went back to reception and were given room 17Again going into 17 we gave them the benefit of doubt but what we saw was horrific. Spiders everywhere, mould in the bathroom that had clearly been sloppily painted over and filthy bedding.Cleaners were only just cleaning the rooms at 7PM when we checked in and the filthy room we were given had apparently “just been cleaned” I highly doubt this given what we were met with.We promptly left the hotel without going back to reception yet again, due to the fact that the staff there were highly intimidating and aggressive.DO NOT STAY HERE.

The room is clean and quiet. The bed is comfortable and the shower is powerful with very hot water if required. It’s not perfect and does not have all the mod cons that people demand and never use. It is clean, quiet, comfortable and hassle free. Perfect for me.

Avoid this place!Doggy, run down and suspicious staff. Long story short my stay was appalling! There was doggy people around, someone tried to get in to my room! Then had a phone call from hotel owner at 1:30am and 3am! Because apparently I have not checked in. See messages for yourself below! It was scary and unpleasant stay. I advise not to visit this place as for single lady travelling it was mortifying expensive.

The room was shabby & not very clean (particularly the bathroom floor & the top of the skirting boards; the kettle lid was coated in dust). The basin tap was broken & one of the bathroom lights didn't work.Despite the website stating that we would be charged £15 for the dog, we were actually charged £20 for the one night, because she was a 'big' dog! Somewhat ironic, considering the room wasn't very clean in the first place!

So I've popped in to the hotel Rafiya before it was hotel Rafiya and it was the blue Inn and I have to say since its became a family run hotel I LOVE IT. I recently had to go into a DV HMO property which means I can't have my son over due to him being 21 but thanx to the affordable rooms I can yet again have weekends with my man baby haha. For me the engery of this hotel is what you need when away from home each room has it own unique feel which gives you a chance to make it yours for the short time you stay. This weekend I didn't realise that I was that comfortable with the hotel I went with no weave in if u know u know haha. I've stayed in the bigger priced chains and OK they are what they are but Hotel Rafiya has one thing they don't the independent family run atmosphere which for contractors working away weeks on end is just what you need.

A vast difference on cleanliness as compared of previous visits, I had a warm welcome, my room was fresh, the sheets and the pillow cases were crisp meaning, the towel melt my heart it was awesome, the walls were clean as well as the kettle and cups, the bathroom was very clean 👌 and the mirrors too...I think those who have visited this place from February are seeing a change. Thank you staff you trying hard to address the concerns of your clients and up grading the place to be habitable enough.

Turned up and the car park had abanded ice cream van and various other non running cars there. Reception smelt like a dirty ashtray. The room we were given looked like someone had just been sleeping on the bed. …
