Turned up on Friday night without a booking and the staff managed to squeeze us in. Really nice decor and atmosphere. TVs everywhere in the bar to catch sports. There is another area behind the bar which I think may have been the proper restaurant area. Really extensive menu, staff were friendly and the food was great. For a group of four, two alcoholic drinks each, three starters and four mains. Change from £100 which I thought was excellent value.

We went for dinner here on 18th July, such a shame it was our last night in Carnoustie as we wished we found this jewel earlier.. …

Lovely lunch on a Sunday. Ace chips and the steak ciabatta was really good. Fish ciabatta was good also. Clean toilets and friendly barman. Quite a dark bar area. Large screens all around the bar area to catch up various sport events but on silent with background music. Reasonable prices too.

Just stopped for a pint and some steak pie and ended up meeting some of the locals -- I have to say how wonderful it was to strike up conversations and be greeted by absolute warmth and kindness! Thanks Graeme C. And his loyal 4 legged furry companion for making me feel right at home. Highly recommend!

Uninterested members of staff ( not everyone). Some staff members seem to be more interested in gossiping with locals than paying attention to the hotel's guests.. Also the sound level is horrible. There are things to be put up. It used to be way better.. Although, what saves the stay here is the manager.

When we arrived, there was noone at reception to help us. The parking was hard to find. The plug in the bath didnt work. The fridge was not working, the toilet seat was broken, and this was all within the first 2 hours of check in. The next day, we were offered breakfast in the pub, but no one was around to make or serve us breakfast. This trip has left us feeling more like we are a nuisance, more than anything else.

Dont bother! Popped in for a drink, rude staff. To crack a smile would have been too much! |Wow never expected staff to be so rude. What seemed to be a back street boozer turned out to be a hotel! Find somewhere else to stay and drink. On a plus beer was cold

Opted to have meal as a last minute decision rather than usual carry out from local takeaway, wrong choice! Food was ok, apart from chips that had been cooked more than once, no taste and not many! …
