I stayed here for two nights as it was close by the family wedding I was attending. The best thing about the hotel is its location in the West End with loads of bars and restaurants to choose from. …

We booked 2 rooms. Our daughters were given a basement room which was musty with very poor air quality. Mattresses were very uncomfortable and pillows rock hard. Shower didn’t drain properly and toilet didn’t flush very well.  …

Room tidy and clean but quite basic. There was a big gap under the door and the landing light shone in all night. From 6am was woken up by the smell of breakfast cooking. Excellent location for kelvingrove.

This room was recommended by the Rick Steves travel book, older version. Location is on the west end of Glasgow and was handy for this area. Shower had black mold that could have easily been removed with proper cleaning. Bed was extremely uncomfortable, block mattress, and desk service was limited; younger, unclear on whether taxi was ordered, door lock not working and had to keep running up and down stairs to tell desk (he should have came up the first time). Breakfast was hot and fair, would recommend filling as people eat as opposed to cooking and leaving for 2 hours. Would not stay again. Feel that this could be remedied with better cleaning of rooms and training of staff. Gave a 3 star as you could tell the facility was modernized.

I booked 4 months in advance, and we ended up getting one of the three basement rooms that are just dismal and nothing to be desired. The basement room we stayed in was dark and very musty. The view from the room looked out to a back area that was junky and it was also the staff smoking area. I had to keep the curtains closed otherwise the hotel staff could look in to our room. The bathroom was mildewy, and the shower drain was clogged. The beds and pillows were hard as rocks. The door had big gaps all around it, so the light from the hallway came into the room during the nighttime. This is the worst hotel room we have ever stayed in.

Management/owner is beyond rude. ||This hotel gave a room I had paid for to somebody else before I checked in, then tried to blame me for bringing extra people!||I booked three rooms, 4 months in advance. …

The devut was dirty, forgot to get a picture of that, dealt with tho. The bathrooms main parts were clean, but not the corners or edges, or the exhaust fan, it was covered in lint. The lights in the mirror didn't work either. The carpet looked dirty. The floor was uneven. The bed was bowed down in the middle and super stiff, the pillows were thin and super stiff also, not comfortable, especially since they don't have air or a fan, so the room on the top floor was super hot with the window wide open. They told me they didn't do laundry and I said well its on the listing, then they charged me 10 lbs for the laundry to be done, and I had to go get it.The staff was great. Other then the laundry part. Very helpful. Told me were to park, oh there's no parking there, unless you count the street paid parking. They got me a taxis for a trip. The location is great, there was great restaurants and pubs to go to! Loved that part!!

We spent two nights at the Argyll Western Hotel during our vacation around the UK. It was located near the University of Glasgow and the Botanical Gardens. There were many restaurants on the block. The rooms were clean and spacious. …

Perfect stay for a conference at University of Glasgow. The room was small, possibly higher than it was long with a ensuite built into the middle of the room. Helpful staff and buffet style breakfast.

A very basic accommodation in Glasgow and very expensive considering the room. Would try other places before booking this as it’s not worth the cost. The room is very small and beds are not good. Parking is a pain and nothing easily available.
