Great hotel for tourists staying in the Royal Mile area! The location is perfect, with several attractions, souvenir shops, restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel is right-sized for tourists staying for a few days The room was nice and comfortable for a single traveller. The hotel staff was super friendly and professional. The downside is that the room temperature was warm and made for uncomfortable nights. The window is only able to be opened a short distance for security reasons and the thermostat is not controllable by the guests. Despite that, I would stay here again.

Very convenient location just off the Royal Mile. Lots of food and entertainment within walking distance. The breakfast was particularly good. The only downside is something that really isn’t the fault of the hotel. It is near quite a few pubs so sometimes the street outside can get a bit noisy into the night and wee hours of the morning.

I stayed one night, travelling on business. The hotel has a great central location, but the room was small with basic amenities, and uncomfortably hot from the moment I walked in. …

We loved the location of this hotel, right on the Great Mile. It was also next door to a wonderful little breakfast spot for coffee and pastries and a pub that was outstanding (The Piper’s Rest). …

The room and bathroom were very compact but that was a small sacrifice for the convenience of the location. The staff was friendly at all times.  …

This hotel is perfectly located for all your Royal Mile needs. It’s also very easy to hop on a bus and head to wherever else you may wish to go. It’s right near St Giles Cathedral, lots of places to eat, pubs, etc. Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful! It should be noted the rooms are very small with nowhere to put clothes other than a very small open concept closet of sorts. I didn’t have enough room for my two bags on my side of the bed and had to have one on a weird angle on the floor where it could have been tripped over. My husband’s bag was under a table on the opposite side and he basically just had to pile his clothes all over the bag.The only other issue was noise. It was necessary to have the window open and we did get a lovely breeze and could see the fireworks over the castle during the tattoo BUT the amount of noise from groups of people late into the night or maybe I should say morning was a bit much. I would hear groups laughing, singing, etc until at least 4am. Now for me it was more like white noise but light sleepers may have an issue. Plus, the pub/bar next door would dump about 500 bottles of recycling every few hours and it was so loud as they crashed into each other and could be very late or very early. It woke my husband up more than once.It was okay for this trip and our needs, being close to where our daughter had been living for two months while interning there but we wouldn’t choose this hotel in the future for the reasons listed above.

Everything was great. Very clean, great location, delicious breakfast and very friendly service. All at a good price. The only knock would be the room we stayed in was in the front of the hotel and it was a bit noisy, but this is to be expected when in the city centre. Highly recommend the ibis Edinburgh Centre Royal Mile - Hunter Square.

This is a nice hotel in the center of the city. Despite the night live around it, the rooms are quiet and guarantee a good sleep. A good breakfast buffet and kind staff is ensuring a nice stay. We will come back next time when we stay in Edinburgh.

Ibis Edinburgh Centre Royal Mile - Hunter Square is indeed a real surprise. It exceeds the boring standard of Ibis. We decided to stay at this hotel due to its location. As Diamond member, the hotel upgraded my room and provided all necessary welcome package. Thumbs up 👍! I didn’t expect this from Ibis. The breakfast was extremely rich and good. Another thumbs up! Some deficits to point out: (1) We found bugs in our room, the next day housekeeping did excellent cleaning, (2) The window was a massive issue, it couldn’t be opened widely (until < 1cm). Probably Ibis management can pay better attention in future. Last but not least, front desks and other staffs were very friendly. Thanks
