We stayed there for a week and it was excellent, the staff were great, breakfast was magic. The owner's Veronica and Joe are fantastic hosts while we were there and went above and beyond. The hotel is very convenient to the downtown, which is in walking distance. We loved it and would recommend it to others going to Greenock.

Great location with great history. Rooms are in need of a facelift however. Mold growing in the shower. No coffee maker in the room, instead instant coffee is offered. Floors creaked and the beds were old to where there were two divots where each person should sleep, created by years of use. Staff was very kind and service at the bars was always excellent. This location has great potential, but I would like to see the owners invest a little more into modernizing the staterooms.

Stayed in the hotel a year ago to visit family for the long weekend and decided to do the same again this year and I was lucky enough to be put in one of their newly reburnished rooms. WOW! What a difference. …

Lovely hotel ! Very comfortable rooms. Great shower and lots of hot water. Good breakfast and amazing fish and chips. The fish was better than an award winning chippy in Anstruther which we tried later that week. The staff are so kind, friendly and helpful I'll definitely stay there again. I posted a photo of the beautiful hall staircase. Highly recommend it.

I suspect management do not read these reviews as I notice that a previous reviewer also noted the mould in the bathroom back in April in Room 25 and nothing has been done about. …

Our first stay here for some 20 years. The staff on arrival were very pleasant and we went up to our room. |What a disappointment, mould all round the shower base and up the tiles, extractor not working, no towel rail. …
