The best pub food in the UK! Great price (only £16 for two courses), delicious dishes (fantastic pie! Thank goodness for seasoned vegetables instead of bland ones! 😋) and EXCELLENT service. The waitress truly enhanced our experience. She let us know what is the true Scottish service!

Had meal in pub area as we had our dog, meal was delicious, service was excellent. The wall seats were all marked & needed good deep clean, was in 2 minds whether to sit on them. Toilets x 2 beautiful but far too small could hardly move in them but wash basin area was huge ? Didn't make sense as wasted area.

Myself and my partner becca had our wedding day/night here (08/06) and it was honestly faultless. ALL staff were incredible, no job was too big or too small and they were happy to help with a smile. Loraine, one of the members of staff working during our day/night, honestly was amazing, she was constantly asking how things were, running about mental for us to make sure everything run smoothly (this is without us even asking). She made our day extra special and cannot thank her enough for all her help. She was an absolute pleasure.. and honestly deserves a pay rise!!!The people in charge of arranging aisle/tables etc were brilliant, they got it exactly the way we wanted and nothing was out of place!Went to collect everything we had brought on the Monday and it was all neatly arranged for us and no issues at all!Our wedding lunch was superb, the food very very tasty and we will for sure be back for a meal in the future!Everyone who was at our wedding had nothing but great things to say about all the staff members and the venue itself, the lads who were in the bar in the evening were good patter and up for a laugh, again never once moaned or groaned about anything, just smiled, laughed and made everyone feel welcome!Again, we thank you very much for everything and making our day special!!Highly recommend!

Went for lunch with 4 members of my family, we sat in the bar area, seats were really dirty, place could do with a revamp. Food was disgusting, we ordered 4 two courses and 1 main course. It was half fish and chips, mines was luke warm, one member got a tiny bit of fish, wouldn't feed a sparrow. The person behind the bar was too busy stuffing her face and having a soft drink. Will definitely never be back it's a dump.

I had dinner there. The food was good! What was remarkable was the two waitresses— super kind, polite, and efficient, which made my evening great.

Stopped for lunch. Food was good, but portions for the price weren't great. Almost looked like a child portion. Probably won't go back. Didn't feel it was good value really. Staff lovely and sitting area clean enough although quite cramped.

Well its safe to say I won't be staying again!!!||Upon arriving the pub was so full and to check in you need to stand queue at the main bar and the queue was huge.  …

Lovely and cozy room. Great breakfast. Would give them 5 stars, but the music downstairs was a major disturbance when trying to sleep. I’m a musician and I can sleep through a lot but the thumping of bass could be heard through the walls. Perhaps something that should be more explicitly communicated before booking.Room for improvement. ;)

Two night stay for Taylor Swift concert. Location was excellent with direct buses to both Edinburgh and Murrayfield. Very reasonably priced considering other hotels were astronomical that weekend. Room was good and beds comfy. …

The Ravelston was an excellent restaurant when it was privately owned, now that is owned by one of the big chains not the same. Went there lunchtime last week very disappointed. It took 25 minutes for a simple dish of pasta, the staff where more busy having a chat with each other.the meal was rubbish and I said so at the time. Being midweek it was almost empty. I used to go there when it was privately owned now I will never go back
