This hotel is so lovely, the interior design is beautiful, so much attention has been given to the small details. We got married nearby and stayed for one night after our wedding. The owner had left a note for us behind reception congratulating us and upgrading us to a suite which was such a nice touch. The food was delicious in the restaurant and the staff friendly. We had a great stay.

I had the best meal I've had for a long time. So much good food to choose from, but I settled on the Soup of the Day followed by the infamous "Glenny Welly", Aberdeen Angus fillet steak wrapped in mushroom duxelle & puff pastry |braised …

As hungry travellers, and despite having made no prior booking, we were welcomed most warmly by owner Ritu Datt and her staff when we dropped by in search of a late evening meal.  …

Long term stay at the best hotel in the north east. Unbelievable food, authentic old country house ambience, and the most unbelievable bar. The setting is great with the village countryside setting with golf course and rolling hills. …

Just returned from a 2 night stay. We were attending a wedding nearby. The hotel provided the dinner the eve of the wedding. The food was absolutely delicious. Grilled salmon trout in a lobster bisque, Scottish new potatoes. …

We were unhappy with this hotel due to a combination of factors. The claim of four stars is ambitious to say the least. We were on the second floor and there is no elevator. The upper floors smell musty. …

Stayed locally and went into hotel for drink with a friend, very dark and gloomy, apart from barmaid there was nobody in bar or lounge or to be seen in hotel. Normal prices for beer but got charged for a standard Laphroaig whisky £12. The barmaid was fine must have been very boring to have two customers.
