We had a nice stay with our family! It was nice that we could park at the hotel (but a very steep entrance and little space to maneuver). The rooms are fine, beds are comfortable. Be sure to try the 'traditional breakfast' if you are not from here. The city is a bit of a walk, but restaurants and the bakery are not far away.

Starting with the positive: the hotel itself is very charming and well located, with easy access to the bus and about a 30 minute walk to old town. The negative: the room is very outdated, and the floor was very dirty, felt like it had not been cleaned in awhile. The shower pressure is almost non existent.Light sleepers beware, you can hear everything, and the room lets in a lot of light.Mattress was hard, could feel the springs through it.Overall it’s a shame because the hotel has potential but currently it’s very disappointing for the price.

Stayed here this weekend. Ideal for the City and trams but other than that was dreadful. Some reviews on here are questionable.

Overall good experience.location: The hotel is a bit far from the city center (30+ min walk) but well connected to the city and airport by bus. The neighborhood is very nice and I enjoyed walking around it though. The staff were lovely and attentive. I had a problem with the heating one night and they fixed it right away. They had a shared microwave that we could use and some fruit for guests as well. As a celiac I didn't dare have breakfast because even though they had gluten free bread I was told it would be out on a buffet table and I didn't feel safe.Other than that no complaints.

Relatively small room, small bed for anyone tall (I am 6ft 2).Room contains from small hallway, fridge, bedroom, bathroom with walk in shower.Uncomfortable mattress, very hard. Not much WIFI 🛜 in the room, very slow- but free :) .Breakfast - choice of cooked or continental, sonic you decide for cooked then forget about pastry đŸ„. After few days it’s boring.Stayed there for 5or 6 days in August 2024.Staff very helpful, doing their best.Noisy from sewage pipe ! Hopefully they will fix it for next season.Overall good stay, breakfast could be better.Very strong 3/4🌟

We had a very large family room for 5 of us on the "1st floor"(for fellow Americans, that would be on the 2nd floor). Our room was bright and clean, and looked better than the photos I'd seen online. We happened to have a beautiful bay window view in our room, looking out to the road and to a nice view of the city and distant hills. I would stay here again! A lovely place to visit from the US.Some helpful notes:There's a bus stop right across the street and then also a very short walk away on the same side of the street, depending on which direction you're heading. I didn't find it to be noisy from our room. I slept well.Hotel is next door to a beautiful and large estate which is a former hospital and school for the deaf, now made into some private flats. There's a microwave on the ground floor near the reception/staircase for anyone who needs to microwave anything, especially for picky children. ;)

We stayed here for two nights and paid around £515 in total. The room was clean when we arrived, and even though we got there before check-in time, the staff kindly let us store our luggage in a room with a security camera for safekeeping.Breakfast isn’t included, but there are different options available. We opted for the continental breakfast and enjoyed some oatmeal/porridge, which tasted good. I’m lactose intolerant, and the staff were very accommodating, providing a milk-free alternative. There’s also a buffet where you can help yourself to fruit, coffee, tea, boiled eggs, and more. The dining area was spacious and comfortable. My only complaint was with the towel replacement policy. The room instructions said to leave towels on the floor if we wanted them replaced, but this didn’t happen. When we asked about it, we were told we needed to put the “clean room” sign on the door for towels to be replaced, which was a bit surprising since, in other hotels I've stayed at, towels were replaced without needing to do this. The staff member who explained this to us wasn’t very friendly, but the rest of the staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel offered complimentary Wi-Fi, and it was both fast and reliable.

A very cute hotel. The room had an English style. It is beautiful. The room is clean, and the bathroom is also clean. There is a bus stop right next to the hotel. You can get to the city center quickly, as buses run all the time. The only problem is the strange electric showers without pressure. Everything else is okay. DeusPixel

Great location = easy to walk to downtown. Great room and good service. By mistake, I lost my tablet stylus in the room: they found it and I just sent them a pre-paid envelope to get it back.

Absolutely delightful views, beautiful hotel. Rooms spacious and decent sized ensuite with a bath as well as shower. Great location. Clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend. Beds could be a bit better/more comfortable but overall a fantastic stay. Thank you Cumberland Hotel
