I booked a room online, more than two months before a one night stay, to break up a long journey. I received confirmation emails to say the room had been booked. My friend booked a second room, later the same evening. …

A last minute booking and a good price so wasn't expecting 3 star standard. It isn't a Hotel/Restaurant any more just rooms. Breakfast wasn't available though we knew that when we booked. …

Booked a night here as a treat for my best friends birthday||. Staff we saw were lovely and very friendly and although the room we were given was in need of redecoration and updating it seemed to be clean enough on the face of it. …

Firstly this is not a hotel, it clearly used to be. There is no pub/ bar or dining area. It appears to under new ownership. The rooms are at the back and have a shared entrance. Our room had an ensuite. The room was quiet. …

Budget priced hotel, stayed in room 2, the whole place really needs a good deep clean and upgrading, bathroom grimey, shower very dirty around the bottom, needs replacing, used the back stairs to go to breakfast room, layer of animal hairs covered them. I am aware it was cheap but still expect a decent standard of cleanliness, breakfast was ok but to be honest the cleanliness issue put us off and we did not eat much, hopefully the kitchen has better hygiene standards. Upside towels were very clean. Came away feeling very disappointed.

This lovely public house, with good beer, has a number of budget hotel rooms. They are not expensive, and are more than adequate for the price charged. They are clean and warm, with basic en suite, and free wi-fi. The food is plentiful and good quality, and every member of staff is friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend.

Such a great experience at the hotel. Made to feel very welcome from the first minute to the last. Staff are so friendly and attentive, with special mention to Sharon in the kitchen, nothing was to much trouble. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

Basic, reasonably priced, free breakfast, good area, would be good to have a chair or chest /bench in the room to lay down clothes, or small table. |Also very thin walls, mum next door heard everything we spoke about. …

Have recently got home, from a totally excellent stay at The Castle. Sharon and her staff, were very friendly and helpful. It was great on the night that my wife, myself and our friend went for a drink in the bar. Got chatting to some of the locals, we had a totally brillant laugh and made so welcome. Will mist definitely stay there again the next time we go.brilliant laugh 4laugh
