Fantastic hotel. Stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed it so much, we have already booked another couple of stays. Lovely clean room. Dining room was amazing with views of the sea. Food was really good. Nice bar to sit in after our meal. Very friendly staff.|Can't wait until our next visit.

A lovely hotel overlooking a beautiful seaside view. What a delight to find that they had family rooms to comfortably hold our family of 5. the staff was very helpful and kind. There is a nice pool and arcade for the kids as well as an indoor play area for the younger kids. The arcade was enticing but often just took your money without allowing you to play. A snooker room with a couple of tables was also a nice touch. The restaurant was adequate but nothing spectacular. Dinner was decent but my fish and chips plate had a very sad, soggy piece of haddock on it. Breakfast options were OK. They offered a full breakfast service (which was very good) as well as a small cold service buffet of fruits and cereals. Overall this place gave the feeling of a small resort and would definitely stay again.

We were walking the Fife Coastal path and this hotel gave easy access from and to the path. The hotel is part of a caravan / holiday park and as such there are facilities such as games rooms and swimming pool which we didn't use.  …

The Bay Hotel is a great base for Edinburgh, or a trip to the highlands. Affordable during The Fringe. It is located north of the Forth, directly opposite Edinburgh.Beautiful views of the city and the Forth Bridges from everywhere in the hotel. A five-minute drive to Kinghorn station, where you can catch the train to Edinburgh Waverley (40 minutes), free parking everywhere. The reception staff are wonderful and helpful. But the restaurant is poorly managed and the pool/snooker room and swimming pool staff do not adhere to opening hours at all. Billiard area is good (2 pool tables and 2 snooker tables), but the swimming pool smells not OK.When you book, also ask if there is a wedding, because it will be noisy until midnight.Family rooms are large, nice views, but the double bed upstairs is very narrow.

Three star hotel that was affordable luxury! This is a huge hotel with every room looking out over the Firth of Forth toward Edinburgh. It felt like a seaside resort. There were a lot of families of all ages yet it was quiet and didn’t seem busy. Our deluxe room had a small living room with sofa, desk and chairs, and balcony. Our balcony was tiny with only one chair because we were on the outermost edge but we were happy with the room location because it was quiet. A tea kettle, instant coffee, teas, and biscuits were provided. The bedroom was in a loft up a set of stairs. The loft also had floor to ceiling views but no balcony. The view was amazing. The hotel amenities included a pool, hot tub, sauna, snooker tables, arcade and game room. Warning, the pool’s last entry is 8 pm. We didn’t realize this and came a little late but since we were just using the sauna, the attendant let us in for the final half hour. In addition to these areas, there was also a common area with comfy chairs where you could enjoy the view and there were two terraces. The Horizons restaurant is huge. I’m not sure why we needed a reservation. There’s lots of tables by the windows and there is a huge bar lounge area that served food also. The bar had an excellent selection of Scottish gins and whiskies. The dinner was good—I had the special which was a chicken pie and it was good. Breakfast included a cold service buffet and Scottish breakfast off the menu. The staff throughout the hotel, bar and restaurant all very helpful and friendly. What we didn’t like:The bathroom was large but the tub was very slippery. I had to put one of our towels down to keep from slipping—I think it is too u-shaped at the bottom or maybe cleaning products made it extra slippery. The room was also very dark thanks to the blackout curtains—yet, you still need to get down the stairs safely. There is a light at the bottom of the stairs but it was bright. There’s no smoking on the balcony which was disappointing since that is why we paid for the balcony suite. We were hoping to be able to get to the beach from the hotel to walk on the beach but you can’t. The road is very busy and then there’s the train tracks too.

Staff were pleasant. Food was nice. Hotel facilities were good.We were given a voucher as an anniversary gift but found we couldn't use it to book online so we had to book by phone instead and to my annoyance we had to pay a higher rate than the online prices which I thought was unreasonable. I wasn't happy at having to pay more just because we had a gift voucher so I complained by email but it made no difference. We decided to pay extra for a premium deluxe room with a sea view which turned out to be on ground level with trees obscuring what was left of the view, so a waste of money. People were able to walk past our patio door and through our outdoor space area, which really wasn't ideal or private. The bedroom needed vacuuming around the bedside tables. The water in the sink took ages to empty and the bath plug got stuck so we were unable to drain the water away which I reported. The hotel was nice enough but the rooms were overpriced and not premium deluxe.
