I arrived on the overnight ferry from Aberdeen and was able to walk to the hostel to leave my bags. It was then less than a five minute walk into Lerwick town centre. I didn't use the kitchen but it seemed to be well stocked with everything you'd need to prepare an evening meal. The room and shared showers were clean and tidy, and I slept well with no disturbances. I'd definitely reccomend this hostel without hesitation.

Everything a hostel should be, great kitchen and dining area, very pleasant staff, super showers, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and in a great location. The adjoining cafe serves up good food at reasonable prices in a wonderful Gothic building

Probably the best hostel in Scotland. Delightful staff and especially helpful stewards/wardens. Charming old building with lots of space and adequate parking. Fine garden and interesting tree. …

Highly recommend this hostel. Free wifi, large dining room, fully accessible with ramps and lifts, and less than 10 minute walk to everything important in town. I was impressed by the laundry, clean kitchen and our room even had a bar fridge and a TV.Only thing lacking were a couple of creature comforts in our 12 bed dorm like a bath mat for the shower and a hand towel for the toilet. Would be cool to have tea and coffee facilities in the kitchen too.Only saw staff once when checking in, but I'm sure they were lovely. We were there for Up Helly Aa so we weren't in during regular hours. Thank you for your hospitality, would stay again.

Excellent location, brilliant facilities, very comfortable bedroom and we were able to leave our luggage early morning after our ferry arrived and leave it when we checked out without an issue. Erik was very helpful, welcoming and informative. Would definitely recommend.
