We stay here regularly on business. Very comfortable hotel with good service and friendly staffBreakfast has a wide choice and the chef will do eggs on demand (I like a poached egg). For us the location is perfect, but it is a bus ride to the city- the bus is cheap and pretty regular however! There is a gym and ‘spa’ pool which is nice to use at the end of the day, also never gets too busy. The bar and food are as expected. We tend to not eat in the hotel but when we have it has been pretty decent comfy pub type foodNice hotel, nice people at a reasonable price!

We arrived at the same time as another tour bus, which I believe overwhelmed the front desk staff. We were advised to fetch our own luggage from the bus as porterage was very slow, however since only one elevator was operating, it was painfully slow anyway- 20 minutes to reach our room from the lobby. Some people hauled their luggage up stairs on their own.Walking down hallway to our room at 4:00pm was disgusting- dirty sheets and garbage throughout hallway on both sides!!We had requested 2 beds and arrived to find only one. Staff from housekeeping advised that we’d have to go through reception to fix this “but should only take five minutes”. 45 minutes later 2 staff arrived to change the one bed in to two, as we headed out to dinner. When we returned the room was SO hot that I went down to ask reception how to turn it off. Honestly, she insulted me by saying “just turn the knob to zero on the radiator”!Well these are old and dated wall radiators, with no mechanism to turn it off. No knob at all and too hot to touch. I called downstairs only to have a man arrive and tell us he couldn’t do anything and maintenance was gone for the day. He also told us it was a boiler problem?!? By this time we just opened all of the windows and cranked the AC. About a half hour later we received a call from the manager explaining that the radiators were a fire hazard and we would have to move rooms. We were all ready tucked in to bed so I refused. Then they sent the ‘absent’ maintenance guy, who used a special tool to turn off ONE of the radiators. Just one. He left the other one on and it is SO hot you can’t even touch the panel - just stupid. The toilet handle is broken, Kleenex was empty and we cannot wait to leave this place tomorrow. Not walkable to anywhere interesting. No apology when I addressed my concerns to management.

The room was clean and comfortable. There is a full breakfast buffet. The hotel is not directly in Edinburgh, so you will need to get a taxi, uber or the bus which is across the street. We were on a tour, so I don't know how much it costs to stay here.

I don’t usually write reviews but I just feel compelled to do one for this hotel because of the excellent customer service. The help we received from Zaynab was great! She not only made the process quick and easy to understand but she also pointed us towards some excellent activities to do. She had excellent manners and was very polite.

After a long train journey or you want to do is to be able to relax in your room as quickly as possible there was no queue at the reception but the receptionist took an inordinate amount of time to check me in. …

Awful hotel - full of very large tour groups of Americans. The worst part was what felt like the very last room in the hotel - room 377 which had no water pressure so the first morning the shower was poor at 6:30am, the next morning the …

I recently went to dinner at the Hotel and parked in their lot. A week later, I received a 60 pound parking fine. According to the fine print, there was "clear" signs to pay for parking. My wife and I never saw the "clear" sign.... nice way to treat guests coming for dinner! The hotel could have done a much better job to avoid this situation. For instance, the restaurant staff could have alerted this to us when we told them that we are not booked into the hotel, only dinner guests.Peter, Ontario Canada

We stayed just the one night prior to flying out of Edinburgh. The hotel itself was very convenient and a great way to end our trip.||The food at the Cast Iron Grill was very good and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet I. The morning was also an excellent way to start the day! The staff was very helpful and Akshay was exceptional.

Highlight of our tour of Scotland, The reception team were lovely. Just a shame it was the end of our Tour. Enjoyed the hotel our time in the pool and all that Edinburgh had to offer us. Breakfast was good and the service was too. Thank you all again!
