2 adults and 2 young children in a room with 2 doubles beds. Perfect space for us.Staff service was great, there is space set up for games with kids plus a gym and pool.Breakfast for us was varied and delicious. Lots of healthy options as well as a full Scottish fry up.Not 5 star as the room lacked hooks for towels and coats, plus the cleaning team could have replenished the consumables such as toilet rolls.Lots of regular buses into Edinburgh and only 15mins away. This is the best hotel for visiting Edinburgh zoo.

This was a decent holiday inn. For a budget hotel it does what it needs to do we paid c. £125 for a room with two double beds sleeping 2 adults and 2 children .We paid for breakfast in the morning which was £25 for all of us children are free.It was clean with complimentary coffee, teas. They use dove toiletries in the showers. They had an iron board and plenty of towels for everyone. The beds were as comfortable as any other hotel bed. The room was spacious and overall a nice stay. The breakfast was good, with traditional English breakfast and some local Scottish delicacies. Fruit and a range of beverages. They have a little games area with table tennis, fuse ball and pool at no additional cost.It is located right next to Edinburgh zoo, so if you want to go there it's an ideal location. Various buses stop right outside coming from the airport or going into the town. There are not many shops near by,however across the road is an amazing Chinese restaurant cool jade which I recommend (see another post).Overall a nice stay, no complaints. Service was fine. Access is a bit off key but hey.

The hotel is definitely very old and poorly maintained. The only renovated areas are the lobby and the bar. The rooms are not clean and lack maintenance. Housekeeping knocks on the door loudly at 9 AM and leaves without even changing the towels. The breakfast is not at all worthy of the hotel’s name. Throughout our stay, we only had bread and fruit; it felt like everyone had to eat Scottish haggis and pork sausage every morning! It is definitely not geared towards tourists. The breakfast staff made us change tables multiple times, telling us that the ones we sat at were not in use. Because they didn’t clean the dirty tables, we had to sit at unclean ones. The pool and spa were advertised, but the pool and jacuzzi were filled with children without protection and the jacuzzi water was murky yellow, the only appreciation will be belonging to the reception staff they were exteremely helpful and friendly. overall, I absolutely do not recommend it; it’s an insult to the brand name.

For a holiday Inn this is so good. The staff are most helpful the place is nice , it’s comfy and has all you could need. The leisure facilities are dated and could do with upgrading though still have plenty that you need.  …

The rooms were comfortable but dated and the front desk staff were friendly and fast. The biggest issue with this hotel is the location. It's about a 15 minute drive to Old Town, there's not much to do around the hotel other than the zoo. There is a shuttle that stops right outside the hotel that goes to both the airport and the city center but it is paid.

Toilet wouldn't flush. They immediately sent someone up to fix it. The first maintenance man managed to flush it but the second night the maintenance man couldn't get it to flush and it stank up the room. A manager came up once and also managed to flush it but I never could. It was no big deal. The bed was very comfortable and I slept like a baby! The breakfast was also great and the front desk staff was professional and very helpful. The hotel is next door to the zoo and straight down the road from the airport, which makes it easy to find. The airport bus stops right in front of the hotel about every 20 minutes, which saves travelers from having to rent a car. The buses also take you to the Royal Mile for shopping and sightseeing. Just bring a credit card for payment (the buses have scanning devices). I would definitely stay here again, and plan on returning next summer!
