Our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel incredibly welcome and even treated us to a complimentary room upgrade, which was such a pleasant surprise. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. It was clear that cleanliness was a priority throughout the hotel, which made our stay even more enjoyable. What really stood out was the hospitality—our host treated us exceptionally well and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. It truly enhanced our UK trip. The location is perfect, just a minute from the train station and very close to the city center and other attractions, making it super convenient for exploring Manchester.Having stayed in a Central London hotel for 2 weeks earlier with poor hospitality, we were so impressed here, that if we were to return to Manchester, we’ll definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Edit, post hotel feedback:As a value hotel, the Piccadilly Central Hotel certainly hits the 4 star mark. The staff are super friendly and helpful and Kevin who checked me in was a great guy. The free Wi-Fi is stable and easy to access. Rooms are a good size, spotlessly clean and have plenty of tea and coffee. My score of three is purely down to the shower room facilities. The shower was hot but the shower head/pressure was poor and the water simply dribbled out. Fix this issue and it’s a 4 star budget hotel easily.

The service was absolutely shocking after checking-in. I wish I'd gotten the name of the rude staff member, he was bald with a southern accent. The man kept changing the rules as time went on, he didn't mention any of it when we'd checked in (there was no mention of it in the hotel policy). For instance we'd left after that he'd told us that no guests are allowed after 11pm (again no statement about this in the hotel policy). Then as we'd left, he said we couldn't come back for our bags?? Went to the extreme of saying he'd call the police on my friends and I because we'd come to assist our friend to collect our bags that we'd left (because there were 4 heavy bags and you can't expect one petite person to carry them all). I pointed out that he was being rude and he'd raised his voice at us saying that it's abuse we're giving, so he'll be calling the police. We have multiple witnesses. Threatened to kick my friend out who'd booked the place as the main guest eventhough she didn't do anything, only because I'd highlight how his demeanor was coming across. He also requested an extra charge even if my friend was to add another guest eventhough at the time, the price was the same as booking it for 1 or 2 people. Whenever I've checked into other hotels, even if I bring a guest later, they'll happily accept this. How many of us have brought in guests overnight? I understand the fire policy but even after we notified you, you were unreasonable. We've all stayed in multiple hotels and have never come across such awful service and extremely poor etiquette from such an entitled person. We talked to him in a calm manner throughout the whole ordeal too. Clearly woke up on the wrong side of the bed. We were left speechless. Safe to say, we're never coming back and he didn't even apologise to my mate (although she apologised for doing nothing wrong when I'd put her in a difficult place only because this man had overstepped our boundaries). My mate and I had to wait 3 hours in the cold to take the public transport home (this happened around 5am).Also need to maybe improve the storage, and the shutters on your windows can do we some oiling.

Room was small, with a small shower place. No cupboard in the room and not enough space to open your luggage and move around. though room service was good. Room was clean with clean sheets and towels every day, drinking water tea coffee and hair dryer available. so all in all bachelors can stay in here if you are there for a match... as it's close to Piccadilly station. But not for families..

Stayed here with two friends for a football match back in April, having travelled from Ireland. Honestly the best service I've ever received from a hotel. Hosts were absolute gentlemen, couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend it to anyone, will definitely be back myself. Sorry the review took so long.

We stayed here last week and were greeted by really lovely hosts in the bar and hotel reception. We had the last double room available as it was busy. The room was clean, fresh and had a sink, tea and coffee, hairdryer and TV. The bathroom was shared on each floor and was really clean and of a decent size. We will definitely consider staying again if we come back to Manchester. Brilliant.

I stayed for one night there. Wonderful and warm staff were extremely helpfull. They upgraded my room charge free! They safekept my bags after checkout. Thanks a lot Micheal and Kevin! The room and toilet were very clean. They offer soap, shampoo, and towel. The room is also warm. There is a cozy bar on the ground floor. The hotel is in a perfect location, just next to the piccadilly train station and near to lively parts of the city.

Edit: 5 stars as I’ve gotten a response that there was wifi after all :)We stayed here for an overnight trip to Manchester. The guy from the reception was really lovely and friendly. The building although old, is clean and well-maintained and so are the rooms. The room has enough space for two, and I'd give a perfect rating if they also had wifi, which I feel was a basic service that should be there. But overall, I would recommend this place.
