This hotel used to be a bank, thus the name. We stayed in a very spacious room on the main floor, the room right at the corner of the building, that would have originally been the front door of the bank (and is the room in the picture on …

We stayed here for one night before catching the ferry at Ullapool. The self check in was easy but as we arrived late we had to park in the street. The place itself was very spacious, clean and well decorated. …

Overall Muir Bank proved very suitable for my recent stay visting relatives nearby. My room on the second floor was clean and comfortable, and fairly spacious. Not what I would call stylish but practical.  …

Can't fault this place at all. We paid for a family room and expected a room... we got a mini apartment! A twin room, a double room, and a shower room, all self contained! This hotel is clearly quite new, and everything is in lovely clean condition. I hope the owners keep on top of it and people staying look after it, as we would definitely stop over here again when next in the area. The bed was wonderfully comfy, we loved the side tables, there was a microwave and the usual tea/coffee etc, along with plates, bowls and cutlery. A really great set up. The self check in worked a treat and we had a very comfy night here! What I particularly loved was the links to the local/Scottish surroundings - all the (beautiful) panoramic canvases on the walls were of Scottish scenery, and I appreciated the little notes by each photo of where it was taken, the mugs and tea tray were of highland cattle, just lots of little things that clearly showed they support the area, great work :) Please don't let the place get run down!! :)

This converted former Bank house is a great value for money self catering facility. The standards of comfort, equipment and furnishings are high and location is convenient. We found the proximity to a main route a little noisy and our only other complaint was a slightly tricky to operate entrance door. We loved the “hidden bedroom” behind the bank safe door.

The rooms corresponded to 2-star class rooms. It's nice to be able to sit outside in the indoor car park, but be careful as the outdoor furniture was completely broken.
