There is mold literally everywhere you can smell it already from the corridor I don’t even know why there are so many good reviews. The showers have no kind of ventilation so after someone showered the moisture will stay there. it is an literal nightmare

Disrespectful Staff, Terrible Food, and Broken ShowersMy stay at this youth hostel was awful. The staff were shockingly disrespectful, treating guests with blatant rudeness. They openly mocked visitors, and when I asked for assistance, I was met with sarcasm and hostility. It felt like they went out of their way to make people uncomfortable. The food was just as bad. Breakfast was stale and barely edible, while the dinners were tasteless and poorly prepared. I paid for the meal plan but ended up eating elsewhere because I couldn’t stand the food any longer. The facilities were in horrible condition. Most of the showers didn’t work, and the ones that did had weak water pressure and fluctuating temperatures—either freezing cold or burning hot. The bathrooms were filthy and seemed to be neglected by the cleaning staff. This hostel desperately needs better management and basic maintenance. I would never stay here again and strongly suggest looking for other options.

Practical choice, quiet, shower works fine. No frills breakfast that fills you up. Bed not great and no bedside light. Uphill walk from station is mercifully short.

Unacceptable Service and Horrible ConditionsI’ve stayed at many youth hostels, but this one was by far the worst. The staff were incredibly rude, often making snide remarks and even insulting guests. They clearly had no interest in helping anyone and made the environment feel unwelcoming. The food was dreadful. Breakfast was barely edible, and dinner was even worse—bland, poorly cooked, and completely unappetizing. I had to spend extra money eating elsewhere just to avoid it.The facilities were a mess. The showers were either broken or had terrible water pressure, and the temperature fluctuated between freezing and scalding. The bathrooms were dirty and smelled bad throughout my stay.I would never return here, and I urge others to avoid this place entirely.

This is a good, clean hostel with many amenities. Free towels. We walked through the neighbourhood above to get into town and it was beautiful. Quaint houses and gardens. Very walkable to shops in Inverness. Medium sized car park was always quite full at night but managed to find a place to park each time.

Rude Staff, Terrible Food, and Broken FacilitiesMy stay at this youth hostel was a disaster. The staff were shockingly rude, often insulting and mocking guests. I personally witnessed several instances where visitors were belittled for simply asking questions. It created an incredibly hostile atmosphere. The food was awful. Breakfast was stale, and dinners were inedible—overcooked, flavorless, and clearly made with no care. I ended up eating out, despite having paid for meals. The facilities were just as bad. Most of the showers were broken, with erratic water temperatures and weak pressure. The bathrooms were dirty and smelled bad the entire time.Overall, I cannot recommend this hostel. It desperately needs better management, improved service, and basic facility repairs. Avoid at all costs.

This was my first experience saying in a six-person bunk room, and it was comfortable and clean. I felt safe the whole time as this hostel, and its Edinburgh counterpart, take security seriously. The front desk is helpful, and there is a kitchen to cook your meals and store any groceries or leftovers. The lobby is a great place to watch a movie with other patrons and is very comfortable with access to charging stations. Keep in mind that the bunk rooms may only have one outlet available, so plan accordingly. Keep an eye out for the hostel mascot, George! He might just let you pet him.

A cheap hostel not quite near the city center. Requires walking up a hill. The staff is nice and helpful. There is a really large kitchen with a fridge, cooking equipment etc. …

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Super safe place though.Definitely not a 'youth' hostel as many of those staying there were 40+ years old. Probably a reflection of most travellers to inverness though.Beds weren't the best I've ever slept on and the hallway lights are blinding when you (or anyone in your room) gets up in the middle of the night.Showers had no benches so I was forced to place my clothes and things on the ground as the single hook couldn't hold everything.Great location and a short walk to city centre.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!If you think this hostel is a good place, think again. We came here and found mold everywhere. The showers are actually unusable because of this. If you would use them you would probably get sick or even worse. We only have 2 electrical outlets in our room of 6 and exactly one of them works. If you want to cook for yourself, you get a separate kitchen where plants start growing out of the sink. Did I forget the non-functioning hot water machine? But it seems that the owners of this hostel are not at all interested in fixing and mending even one of the disgusting things you find here.I myself spend most of my time in the reception area or outside the building because it is still bearable there. So there is one positive thing I can say. It is just a 10 to 15 minute walk from here to the city of Inverness. So I reccomment you to try camping in front of the hostel, where you can get fresh air and no mold...All in all, this is the most disgusting hostel I have ever stayed in. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
