Stayed here whilst walking the WHW. No welcome on arrival dated reception area that was closed. Toilets in reception over flowing door sticks so have to open by pulling the bottom nothing to dry your hands with. …

Camped here for 1 night. The best thing was a small working drying room, where I could dry out my sleeping bag. Showers are not clean, some do not have a light. Kitchen facilities are pretty basic. Pitch did not exist, you had to pitch between the cabins. This meant that you get woken up by the porch lights at night. The toilets in the hotel where also not very clean and fairly backed up. Do not recommend this as a campsite.

A little bit tired and in need of a refurb, but our cabin was just right for the 3 of us, plus the showers were nice and hot, and the kitchenette came in handy. Staff were very friendly and did their best to help, excelling when my husband discovered he had left his watch behind. They kindly found it and held on to it until he was able to collect the following day. Amazing views too (despite the midges!)

Very disappointed about the lack of service compared to the amount we paid. Kitchen, bathroom and cabin dirty (foot print on the wall, spider in the corner, front door unable to lock) . Even my dog house was way cleaner. The drying room the size of a rabbit hutch smelling garbage. The guy at the desk seemed bored of his job any questions asked seemed a burden for him to answer. Please burn this place down and rebuild something brand new.

Great location, right on TWHW but unfortunately the quality of the accommodation was very substandard. Kudos to the chef and wait staff, especially Ross, exceptionally professional and courteous under difficult conditions. We would not recommend it as a place to stay, seemed very Faulty Towers to us. Can’t believe that expensive tour organisers use this place.

Spent a terrible night here on the WHW, the tents are just placed adhoc around the cabins, so at bar kicking out time it’s really noisy with returning cabin guests, lights going on etc, the showers were awful, no light in one, no lock on …

When entering the hotel the reception area is tired and dirty. Check in did not open until 3pm so we were happy to wait in bar and have a drink and food. We ordered the soup which was ok but not very warm at all. …

Many thanks to Thomas for offering to shelter us from the rain during a cold October night. The Shepherds huts were just what we needed. Showers were hot and plenty of space to dry our kit.

Just terrible. We tried to check in but there was no one at the desk, when we found someone they couldn’t find our key for the hut. When we eventually got in it smelt damp and didn’t feel clean at all. …

Stayed here for 2 nights in a cabin (shed) 2 bunk beds in a shed, barely any room to move, plastic mattress with no sheets. The toilets and showers are awful, dirty and smell. The kitchen area smells, the fridge smelt like something had been left in there for months. The guys working in the bar/restaurant were lovely. Had one encounter with a very rude woman working in the bar/restaurant area who wouldn't let us in to eat as we hadn't made a reservation but the night before we had gone to just sit in the restaurant because the bar was full and we was given a menu and asked if we would like to eat by the guys working there. She was extremely rude and should learn some people skills when working in hospitality
