This is a very tired hotel and we were warned to move by other guests who had checked in 30 mins before us! However our room, although dusty and in need of decorating/hoovering/updating was comfortable. …

Very nice room and staff were all very accommodating. My party stayed two nights. Breakfast selection was excellent and the chocolate croissants were delicious. Dinner at the hotel was very tasty both nights. WiFi was not accessible at our room, but we could go to the common areas and use it.

The hotel was nicely located overlooking the Loch. We stayed here two nights while in the Loch Ness area. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had the Phadrig room…an “executive” room with a great view overlooking Loch Ness. There was a lounge area downstairs with wood burning fireplace. Breakfast was very good.

We had to organise the gathering of friends and relatives of a well loved 100 year old lady after a service and interment of her ashes at the beautiful St Ninian's Episcopal Church of Glenurquhart. …

My room was in the older part of the hotel. It was quiet, spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of free parking. The hotel is an easy walk to the town centre. The bar is only open when the restaurant opens, which seems strange. …

This may be a three star hotel, but the food is five star and we had a lovely stay. The hotel was running on few staff, who would appear at the front desk, bar and even adjoining shop. They were pleasant and friendly, and the slower pace of everything was welcome.Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, a nice view out front too. Bathroom was well fitted and everything routinely replaced, such as coffee sachets and teabags in the room. The lounge has a log fire and really comfortable chairs, as does the bar area in the adjoining restaurant. No alcohol free beers/lager but lots of other drinks. Just get the owner's attention for service, or one of the multipurpose staff.Food was excellent, the venison especially nice. A nice menu including vegetarian haggis! Breakfast buffet was plentiful too, the tasty well cooked sausages were really nice.Nessieland and the gift shop are at the end of the car park, and although we didn't go in the attraction, the shop was good.Only a short walk to the pub, or a short drive to Co-op, fish and chips or pizza. Loch Ness Centre just next to this is well worth a visit.Quiet, relaxing and just what we needed as a base for a few days. Not perfect but good value and would certainly visit again.

Arrived at the hotel after having travelled down from the Orkney, the welcome wasn't great but perhaps the lady on reception had had a bad day !! …

This hotel is really run down. It has masses of potential and character but has been let go, and I don't think the owner cares. The bedroom smelled of damp and had peeling wallpaper. The bathroom STANK of drains - I had to leave the door shut and the extractor fan all night. The TV was in German. You couldn't put dinner or drinks on your room bill. There were no draft drinks as the pumps were broken. I even had difficulty getting a lemonade!! If we had been staying more than one night we would have left. The dinner was a redeeming factor which was very tasty, even though the chef served it as well as cooked it! The receptionist was also very helpful. A certain comedy about a hotel in Torquay sprang to mind, but without the comedy!

This was a nice spot in the middle of nowhere in the Highlands. The bar and dining here were nice and pleasant. However, the plumbing there was a disaster. There is a small museum nearby if you want to take your kids there for some fun for them. There are some trails and golf course(s) nearby as some I was with the travel group did while they were there.

It would appear that no money has been spent on this hotel for decades (I heard a story that the owner wants to knock it down but the local authority will not allow this.) …
