Had a great welcome and really enjoyed our brief stay. Good facilities with a huge self catering kitchen and dining area and a huge but cosy and well equipped family lounge meant our 7 year old was happy too. Non profit, with proceeds going to support veterans was an added bonus.

This is very much a self service stay which was perfect for our purposes not a typical hotel set up more hostel type set up.The rooms were clean and the kitchen/ dining area had great facilities and amenities. The views were fantastic. It's clear there is a lot of money/ investment being put into the property so when it's all finished it will be a fantastic stay. You need to bring your own food, bedding and toiletries almost like a hostel set up and check in was also self service, straight forward and easy.

Not very happy about the place honestly. I know the concept but they could make an effort about the cleaning, plus, sink,if you aren't a kid, is not useful, as it has a shelf where you are supposed to have your head to wash yourself. The place, is nice and the bed too, but to me the cleaning is supposed to be at first place

A great place to stay with a selection of rooms, a massive kitchen and dining room (well resourced) and a fantastic lounge area with games, lounging areas and a huge TV .I was in a bigger room with separate bedroom (parents had the bedroom) and I slept on the sofa bed which was fairly comfortable. The bathroom is lovely and the shower is something else!! There was a bit of rain noise overnight (in the bedroom) so earplugs might be good if you're a light sleeper. We did have a LOT of rain though. The host Tony is great and you might be able to tell but I fell in love with Koda the resident pup. A few finishing touches still needed but a great find. Thanks Tony and Koda for making us so welcome.

Hi, can you respond to my email for refund, please? My room was canceled one week before due arrival I understand it was due to damage. I booked directly on your web and paid full in advance. Sorry for posting this here, because it has been a week without hearing back despite speaking with you on the phone and got told someone will deal with my refund.

A wonderful hotel with a knowledgeable and friendly host. Rooms were very clean. This place truly felt like home, from the friendliness of ownership, to the decked out Veterans lounge with a huge flat screen tv, dry bar and sofas. Stay here if you’re in the area.

We loved this hotel, the owner Tony was a delight to talk to, we got all the information about him and his journey of how he has refurbished the whole place, a massive project and a fantastic addition to the area. His dedication shows in the very walls of the building, it is a jewel right in the heart of the Cairngorms. We will recommend highly, the accommodation was amazing, the photos don't do it justice, it has to be seen to appreciate what Tony has achieved; also looking forward to see the finished lounge and decking.Thank you for your hospitalityAll the very best going forward, we will be backMaureen & Douglas

We got stranded in Kingussie due to car breaking down between Orkney and Glasgow and even though it was late, Tony got back to us straight away when we enquired about staying the night with our three kids. The place is a lovely old building and our room was clean and comfortable. It has the feel of a luxury hostel. The great thing about Forces Manor, however, is the owner Tony, he’s a guy who will go out of his way to help you if he can. We needed to get to Kingussie train station in the morning with all of our luggage which had been in our car and roof box and no taxi companies were able to help us. When Tony saw my distress, he offered to drive us in two trips to the station and would not accept payment. What could’ve been a further disaster was turned into a moment that put our faith back in humanity. Cheers Tony
