Property was clean, tidy and fresh bedding, staff came in everyday and cleaned the kitchen and changed the rooms, Ali went out of his way to accommodate us when there was a mix up with our rooms ( not the guesthouses fault.) beds were extremely uncomfortable though sadly and the mattresses need replacing or upgrading with better quality ones. Didn’t sleep properly for the 3 nights we were there but at the price in August we paid we couldn’t get cheaper. Kitchen was always tidy and clean and no bugs to be seen minus the odd flying ant but no mice or anything like previous review stated and we had 2 rooms.

This was a very basic cheap hostel type guest house. It was a convenient walkable location 30 min to the city center. The room was freezing, wifi didn’t work, the bed was very hard, if you wanted towels you had to rent them for $1 (ridiculous for a guesthouse), and booking online the platform only takes $4 of your payment so you have to figure out how to leave the balance for the room, which was weird and kind of inconvenient.I don’t recommend staying here.

He would deserve 0 stars. The owner wasn't there at the moment of the check in, and he never showed up. I phoned many times without answer. He called me back after 20 minutes while we were in the middle of the street. The room was dusty and dirty. Full of ants and flying insects. An animal (mouse) gnawed at our closed packet of biscuits during the night. The room was without shampoo, soap and towels. I had to buy them in a supermarket. The room is not that cheap to avoid providing proper service!!! It's a matter of respect. I do not suggest it.

I read a bunch of reviews for this place before writing my own, and I’ll be completely honest: a lot of the latest complains might have already been fixed, because my stay was pretty reasonable. It’s not luxurious, but it is quite clean and ok for a few nights. For reference: I stayed at Struy from Apr 3 - 5 (2023).The beds are ok, not the most comfortable ones but you’ll be completely fine. No bugs at all (as someone stated that there were a few when they stayed), and the bed sheets were pretty clean (and even smelled good from the laundry).Bathroom also ok, with good shower. Guests are responsible for maintaining it all clean during the night, because the staff are only present during a period of the day. But I didn’t experienced anything drastic, only one night that someone left the floor all wet (but not too bad to complain). Hot water on the tap does work fine, as well as any other. The walls are indeed a little thin, so you can hear everyone in the building. But during my 2 night stay, there were only nice and quiet guests at Struy.Overall, it’s a nice place for travellers on a budget, would definitely stay again if needed.

Not as close to city central as we thought. The room was clean and everything worked. Bed squeaked a little under a load. Could use a good cleaning in bathroom.

Cheap and unpretentious guest house with minimal facilities. We had a self check in but received lots of information about C19 protocols and there was plenty of sanitizer etc in communal areas. …

Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed.- the bed was noisy, incredibly uncomfortable and smelled terrible;- the rooms were not at all clean;- the shower was covered in mould, the bathroom taps don’t work properly and the bathroom light flickered on and off constantly;- the fridge was impossibly loud making sleep incredibly difficult;- there’s weird notes and directions everywhere;- parking is abysmal; and- every time another guest makes a noise, it can be heard throughout the house.DO NOT STAY HERE. Sleep in your car, you’d be far more comfortable.

I love this place because it is near the Ness Islands. I stayed 3 nights here. Every morning I would walk to town through the Ness Islands, enjoying the beautiful and quiet nature. Rooms are clean but a little cramped. Water is warm. …

Bedding washed in a small, busy launderette in the middle of Inverness. Duvet and pillows were stained yellow, we ended up sleeping without the duvet to avoid (MORE) bites from bugs, bathroom wasn't clean and the toilet had clearly not been wiped. Kitchen was helpful and tidy (ish), however the strangers coming in and out of guesthouse, made things being kept in the fridge a very unnerving experience.

Overall, our stay at the Struy Guest House was a nice experience. My friend and I rented a three-person room for two days. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had a sink in our room which was nice.  …
