Aviemore Hotel is very run down, from arriving I could see the reception area was filthy, looks like the floors haven't had had a good clean in a long time and the glass doors were all marked. …

Good location at the heart of Aviemore but could do with little bit of upgrading and proper TLC. The rooms were not up to the price you paid. the windows were difficult to shut once opened and looked like never cleaned. There was a different smell coming from carpet. The shower clogged quickly and became a water pool🙄.Went to have food in Aspect restaurant which was a big let down. This is where i think this resort gets lots of bad impressions. It turned out be an expensive meal for us which was not worth it. Let down by the chef, manager who never came back and also the cocktail maker. The tables were all chipped at the sides, the water jugs were the same. I mean it's endless. The water pool was the highlight. We thoroughly enjoyed that part. Could do with little more cleanliness in kids pool. Spa and some other facilities were not working.

Brilliant place to bring the family. Accommodation is clean and well appointed, free access to soft play and the pool facilities. Restaurants are very nice and not over priced.

We stayed at a woodland lodge. Like other reviews the lodge is in need of some TLC, table was shaky, carpet were frayed, dishwasher leaked, outside light was like a strobe but the beds were clean and the location is great. …

Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are exceptional and the attention to detail in the rooms is above and beyond that of most hotels BUT they only have one lift and it was broken. …

Recently had a break at MacDonald Morlich Aviemore. We’ve stayed at the hotel and her sister hotel Highland many times now and never disappoints. Staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and professional. …

Initial Room we were given was a family room, even though we booked a double room, which was located at a place where you had to go outside to come back in with fire exit doors that remained open (not very safe). Eventually got a room which was suitable. Room itself was pleasant. Service was decent, but not for a four start hotel. Small things, like no plug sockets next to the bed, when asked for fresh milk for tea and coffee, came in a glass rather than a milk jug. In the room we were given a brochure advertising 10% off when you spend money in the shop at the resort. The shop are no longer doing this discount, and stated that hotel are always a few weeks behind. Just be careful with that one.Staff were friendly, accommodating and pleasant!

Just spent the night at MacDonald Highland hotel, for the price I would have expected a more updated and modern room. The curtains were actually ripped and the place albeit clean is musty and old fashioned. …

This place is okay but it feels very tired. Certainly not worth the cost. We were in a lodge. …
