Lovely place to stay near Glencoe. The staff were warm and welcoming. The rooms were cozy and well appointed. It was relaxing to sit and have a cuppa against a beautiful backdrop out the front windows. Highly recommend.

The important things about this hotel are very good - the service (Liam, Marcello and Jo in particular)... the quality of food in the Fish Restaurant... and the rooms themselves.  …

The location is great although remote and the facility is old but beautiful. The view of the mountains and the loch are stunning with amazing sunsets. The front desk was really the driver of the 3 vs. 4.  …

Beautiful location, quick 15 minute drive to great hiking in Glencoe. Hotel staff were courteous and extremely helpful. We tried to book an additional night (3 were not enough), and while they could not accommodate, we were directed to a sister hotel that could. While she was quite busy, Matahara took the time to help us and with patience. We hope to make it back to the Highlands and would stay here once again without hesitation

My wife and I had an unforgettable dinner at the Ballachulish Hotel restaurant for her birthday. The food was outstanding—she had the tiger prawn risotto, and I enjoyed the monkfish, both cooked to perfection. The staff went above and beyond, moving us to a table with a beautiful view and surprising us with special plates for our honeymoon and birthday celebration. A huge thank you to Liam, the manager behind the bar, for pouring a perfect Guinness, and to Chloe and Dana, our wonderful servers, who made the evening truly special. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Maya Angelou is famously quoted for saying that people will forget what you said and will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel, and that is a lesson that could be well taken on board by the Ballachulish …

Very expensive hotel with no reason. It looks no better than your usual 3 star hotel. It must be the location, not sure. The restaurant has fancy cutlery, fancy dry dipping napkins, fancy menu and the food? Average! You do pay fancy prices, though. I would not recommend it.

Wonderful hotel. I will say that it actually not air conditioned for those that are American travelers. And if you are a light sleeper I would get a room on the top floor since the hotel is old and the floor creaks. But breakfast was absolutely wonderful and the views were amazing!
