We based ourselves here for three days motorcycling around Wales and couldn’t have picked better! The location is great, and the onsite parking for us was a must have. ||We had room 16 which was a large twin. …

Great stay at this hotel - perfect location for exploring Hay and beyond - clean, comfortable room and bathroom - lovely full English/Welsh breakfast in the morning. We had dinner one night - all meals were delicious. Shout out to Nicky who helped us with a load of laundry!

Having read the good reviews, we booked and were looking forward to our stay at the Swan, which marked the last day of our Wales holiday. We were mightily disappointed.  …

We had a lovely stay at The Swan. The building and gardens are beautiful, and our room was large. The staff are super friendly, and we had the best breakfast each day. The food is good quality and cooked to order.  …

Came for dinner. The place isn't what you expect, but the man serving was welcoming, friendly, and very helpful! It's not a vast array to drink but not badly priced. We ordered cheesy garlic bread, and we paid extra for the cheese. I think it was £1.50 each (×3). Well, there definitely wasn't 50p worth of cheese between them! Mains came out chicken burger was lovely pizzas are big and tasty fish and chips were a good size as was the pie. All in all, for the price, it was worth it! Also dog friendly in the bar.

Stayed two nights in early Oct. Cosy, warm, tranquil would describe it for me. The staff are superb. Decor is a little dated, but none the worse for that. We ate in the bar both evenings, which would benefit from stronger lighting. The food was excellent, top notch pub food. All in all well satisfied.

My family and I recently stayed at the Swan Hotel, Hay on Wye, to celebrate my milestone birthday. I really don't have enough superlatives to describe how wonderful our entire experience was, in every respect. …

We had some lovely drinks in the bar and were greeted with friendliness and warmth. That can't be said about the restaurant manager though. She was almost reluctant to book us in for a meal, as though only residents of the hotel were worthy. And, unfortunately, the food was trying to be Masterchef but was a great deal more like Little Chef. Not at all worth the money we paid.

Called for lunch on a busy Saturday in Hay, although unlike the rest of the town the Swan was deserted. I had a steak (ordered rare and came more well done but I was too hungry to complain!). Had a dessert too. …
