My partner and I booked a stay here in September 2024 for his birthday weekend. From the initial phone call I was impressed with how accommodating they were. I have various dietary needs and usually going away anywhere is quite stressful, however the staff here put my mind at ease immediately. They had multiple options for me to eat at breakfast and the evening meal we had was delicious! In hindsight we should have eaten here on both evenings as the food is amazing! The room was lovely, warm, clean and nicely decorated. The hotel location is perfect for walking through Tintern itself and equally for a short drive to Chepstow. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Grace was very attentive, always checking in to reassure me about my food choices and to check that we were happy with everything. We would love to stay here again, perhaps with more time to explore further afield this time!

I loved the feel of this family run hotel situated in a prominent position in Tintern with easy access to the abbey and to many other interesting places. Service was excellent and the food was scrumptious. Very reasonably priced including breakfast- the eggs benedict was the best I have had in a long time. My room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was very spacious with a bath and a shower- lovely soft white towels and pleasantly perfumed toiletries. Parking was off the road with easy access.

They ruined fish and chips anywhere else for me. This was the best I've ever had. I didn't know Cod grew this thick. It was perfectly cooked and juicy. Together with the rarebit starter and desert it was an excellent meal in a lovely setting. Thanks so much to the cook!

A lovely stay. We had 2 rooms, a twin and a double, that had a lovely lounge as well. We had been to the races, and booked taxis to and from. We had dinner here which was lovely, and a fabulous cooked breakfast. Very quaint village, really scenic.

Visited the Wye Valley Hotel for food whilst on holiday with family and friends in Tintern. What an absolute gem of a place it is.Firstly the staff are so friendly, helpful and welcoming . They are extremely efficient and profession in their work. Secondly the atmosphere in the bar area is very cosy and comfortable . Thirdly, and most importantly the food is first class. We ate there three nights in a row and each meal was absolutely delicious. It was cooked and presented to perfection. It’s reasonably priced and excellent value for money. We had eaten at another establishment in the village on two occasions but…….the Wye Valley Hotel was by far the most superior.I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone and when in the area we would all visit again.

Tintern was very busy so stopped off for lunch here. My partner and i shared an excellent ploughmans warm baguette, 3 various cheeses 2 types of pickle, silverskin onions grapes and apple segments and a small taster salad accompaniment. Coupled with half a cider and a lager not to be missed on a hot Sunday afternoon. Speedy, friendly service too. Recommended

Food was different but appeared well cooked and presented. Not usually our chosen choice but had heard good things about Waygu meat so wanted to try it. It certainly tasted different and we thought it may have caused our illness later that night. However the landlord has gone way and above to prove they were not the culprit. The hotel was, in our opinion, old fashioned, dark and tired inside. We never went upstairs. Now we know it was a retro theme that's fine, just not for us. With failing eyesight and cataracts I prefer bright open spaces.
