I was a bit dubious before arriving because of the negative reviews, but I have to say that the hotel is a gem. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, the staff were lovely, the breakfast was beautiful especially the bacon. The location is brilliant, a short walk to the seafront and the shops.

I had a lovely stay, the room was clean although slightly tired in places. The hotel was quiet at night and the staff were super friendly and breakfast tasted great. buffet style service in a small room was spot on. I'm not sure why some of the other reviews say differently. Overall I would stay again & would recommend it

Absolutely disgusting! We booked here to attend my brother’s graduation after a previous positive stay in the main building. This time, we were put in what I can only describe as an old student house, in horrific state of disrepair. The room (2) was knocked around, the paint falling off around the window (which was awful to open and close), the curtains were dirty, the bed boxes were filthy and knocked around too. In fact, all the furniture was vile in the room. I could genuinely believe that the students moved out a couple of weeks ago and they just stuck an extra bed in our room. The shared bathroom was absolutely disgusting. It stank in there, and the bath was unusable anyway due to no plug. There’s only one shower in the whole house. The toilet was constantly covered in urine and the toilet rolls were sodden through (?). It was a mess and didn’t feel clean at all. I decided to forgo the shower. We paid £150 for this pleasure… I wouldn’t ever recommend this accommodation to anyone. My student house was cleaner and in better state of repair. Save your money! 🤢🤮

My husband is there now. Booked a single room without en suite for £99 a night B&B. Check in was at 3pm and he and other guests were waiting until 3.45pm for their rooms. No apologies given by staff! …

I've travelled all over the world and this has to one of the worst hotels I've stayed at.To start, my bill was stained by coffee or tea. I was put in House 18 room 6 which you entered from the street. You had to be a lock smith to use the key provided to enter the building. On entering the poorly decorated, dirty hallway I went to the top floor to my room. The room had two single beds. The mattress on my bed was worn out and uncomfortable although the bed linen was clean. The two pillows were flat, tired and worn out too.The room was decorated in painted wood chip wall paper which had numerous blemishes. One blemish looked as someone had vomited on the wall. There was a chest of wood chip drawers with broken and missing handles. The curtains were a joke with a gap at the bottom not fully covering the extent of the window. The toilet and washing facilities were on the next floor down. The toilet had a wash basin but there was no soap or hand drying facilities. Also the door to the toilet had bevelled glass in it which didn't protect your modesty. The shower room door, however was solid but had nothing to cover the beveled glass window which faced the exterior of the building. There was a sink but no mirror. However the breakfast was good with attentive staff. All in all I wouldn't of liked to spend any amount of time in the hotel as it would of been so depressing.

A very high class hotel. Magnificent and huge rooms, a luxurious bed with a lot of pillows of different types. The room is simply pampering. What to improve?==============The shower head was clogged and barely took out a few drops, I had to spend 15 minutes cleaning it and then it worked well.

This place has some seriously negative reviews, so this is just my experience, which was excellent. Structure is clearly old, as it's most of Aber, to be fair. Yet, room was clearly refurbished, well kept, clean and comfortable. Bathroom equally refurbished and quite modern. Check-in and Check-out were quick and uncomplicated and the cooked breakfast was good, with very attentive service. On top of that, I only booked one week in advance and the rate, for being a holiday location in Summer, was excellent. I can only recommend it.

Arrived after a long journey to be told that the 3 bed apartment we had booked and paid for on hotels.com wasn’t available despite confirming it by email on 1st August with the hotel. The previous guests had stayed on -|Unbelievable! …
