It was fantastic, rooms were roomy, very clean and tidy. Pool was great, sauna, jacuzzi, spa pool, excellent. Breakfast was good, but had to wait for more coffee, more bacon, more hash browns, orange juice tasted lovely. Only problem was although we had Internet, we had no network, so to receive calls, or make calls we had to go outside to connect, that was not good.

We booked a last minute night away for my husbands birthday. The place is beautiful and reasonably priced. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Food is fresh and tasty. We had executive room 2 which was lovely and comfortable, a tad bit dated maybe but you pay for what you get! All in all a lovely break!

My partner & I spent the weekend here for our anniversary, it was really nice. My partner booked it all & had the flowers on the bed & anniversary card sorted by the staff, which was so lovely for them to do it. The hotel was really pretty & our room was super nice, there was a bit of maintenance needed like on the ceilings & the walls but other than that everything about it was spot on. We didn’t had breakfast included because it was an extra £65 for two morning breakfasts for 2 people, it seemed liked an excessive price. My only slight complaint would be several of rooms might be in need of new beds & mattresses, maybe soundproof some rooms too, you could hear the nightly activities loud & clear😂

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere (although quite near Chester) so I guess this is a positive if you want a relaxing retreat.Loads of parking space. We found the main entrance mostly by “pure deduction” as the reception signage for reception is tiny when looking from the car park. It’s a bit of a maze inside the building and took us a bit too long to find our room with multiple fire doors on the way with no signs whatsoever.Once we found the room, it was very spacious and comfortable however, I couldn’t turn the heating on so we contacted reception to be told that at this time of the year they wouldn’t have it on because some guests find it too warm. That would be a solvable issue just turning the radiator off (it could be regulated to 1-5) and/or open a window. We were told there was an electric heater in the wardrobe that we could use. I though it would be pointless given the size of the room but I must say the temperature increase was noticeable and the device absolutely silent. However, the room above us had very creaking floor boards and it was pretty annoying every time anyone walked around so we were offered to move to a different room when it was available the following day. This one was even bigger than the first one and the bathroom much more modern, with separate shower and bathtub.Surprisingly, the radiator worked in this one.Our room was serviced the following morning and towels changed but the bed wasn’t made.Beds were very comfortable. No minibar or fridge. No water in the room (but fresh water by reception and spa area)Fluffy towels.Light is very poor both in the bathroom and the room itself.Dinner was ok although the restaurant lacked any ambience.Quite a choice for breakfast: bacon, sausages, eggs, beans… and toast, pastries, fruit, yogurt and different kind of cereal.Coffee was in a big thermos (as hot water) and wasn’t particularly good.Staff very kind and helpful (Catherine was particularly sweet). We visited the spa and gym.Spa is quite tired and no much space to seat (4 or 5 plastic deck chairs not very comfortable).Small steam room and sauna but I guess sufficient.Jacuzzi had several plastic racks missing and not all squirts worked but it was nice despite the amount of chlorine which made my eyes water.Changing rooms had lockers (no padlock needed) and hairdryers. Pool towels provided.

Would strongly advise against staying here. Very rundown has clearly had zero investment. Our first room was tired but ok until we came to go to bed. One of the mattresses was destroyed they had tried to cover it up by putting 2 duvets under the protector but there was a huge dip and it was rock hard. No one could sleep on that. Got moved and room was also tired. Bed was better but shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and into bedroom which explained the wet carpet! Evening meal was appalling. Honestly disgusting. Dining room filthy, carpet was vile. 2nd night for ease we had pizzas in the bar which were decent and Johnny the bar man was great. A shame as could be beautiful but needs a lot of investment. Very disappointing.

The room was large and the bed was comfortable. But that’s about where the praise stops. There was mould in the showerThe restaurant was very disappointing- the food was very overpriced- it was bland and tasteless- the staff seemed like they didn’t want to be thereSpeaking of staff. You need to hire more and provide more training. The bar was often unattended and there seemed to be major issues with the tills.
