Booked for 24 of us. Despite the fact I chopped and changed numbers etc everything was spot on and they did a special set menu for me with a choice of starter, main and dessert (2 or 3 course). …

We came for afternoon tea as a couple. There was plenty of food, and the addition of the quiche and wanted was delightful. It was nice to have warm food. The scones was so fluffy and a nice selection of cakes and sandwiches. …

The Sweeney has always been our go to restaurant where we could guarantee a good meal. The meal we had last night was very poor. The starter ordered was Camembert and focaccia. It arrived minus the Camembert.  …

Fantastic stay for 2 nights for our 10th wedding anniversary. Very comfortable room (room 4) with a nice new bathroom. Afternoon tea was very good, we liked the addition of wedges. Almost too much food and all home made I believe. …

Really dislikes the pea risotto I ordered. I was part of a large (celebration) group so didn't want to put a downer on the evening. I left all of my meal and nobody asked how our food was or why it hadn't been touched. Very disappointing food and service.** ADDED. Unsure of how to reply to a reply sorry. Similar feed back from others with the same dish as myself but do appreciate we all do have different tastes and others also commented on not being asked how their dishes were unfortunately. I'm assuming it was because of the large group as I have eaten at sweeney before and enjoyed my meal. Appreciate the reply

We had a delicious dinner at the Sweeney last Saturday. The setting is so beautiful and the gardens are great for a pre dinner drink. The menu is really adventurous with Asian influences, all the classics and local seasonal ingredients. …
