Very friendly hotel right in the middle of Chester. Quiet and comfortable. |Our room was on the small size for a king size room and a little dated, but clean with comfortable beds. |The staff were very friendly and helpful. …

Considering that we got one night, a Friday night too, with breakfasts, we considered it to be great value for money. The location in the centre of Chester is terrific and almost unbeatable. It ought to have been expected that it would be a very small room with a particularly small bathroom so we weren't too disappointed. But what was disappointing was the heating system. The radiator was burning hot and couldn't be regulated . Even with the window open it was very hot. In fairness they gave us a fan but a hotel of this quality ought to have a better heating control. In contrast there were two showers. The hand-held one got nice and hot. But the top one was little more than lukewarm. We were happy because of the cost and location, but we'd have been especially disappointed with the heating and shower if we'd paid more.

DO NOT STAY HERE.Pros-Staff are lovely, helpful and accommodatingLocation is great.Cons-Beds are uncomfortable, old.Pillows are worn out and old.Cleaning they do is light cleaning and not deep cleaning. The dust and dirt build up in our room is vile.Bedrooms are hot and you can’t open your windows. To say the property is tired is an understatement, it is absolutely battered. There are marked walls, signs hanging off the walls, knocks in furniture. The property smells mouldy, musky and just old.We were supposed to be here two nights. But after my watch telling me I had a ‘poor non restorative sleep’ I am biting the bullet and booking into another hotel to get a good nights sleep. What an absolute joke of a place.

The mixed reviews this property has received are fair.||It does need a bit of a refresh, and not just on account of being a dated property.  …

Great hotel clean great looking great service but room which was clean looked great. Bed really comfy large pillows but to bring up to really great standard needed to snag regularly faults and lacking comfort and look.cracked tiles in bathroom, glass shower curtain hindered getting out of shower needed an extra hand rail, bathroom door chipped just not maintained regularly. But saying all this great stay, staff great helpful, and fun for the price we pay great stay.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. On arrival the hotel is very dated and basic. The room was so hot it was unbearable, even with window open all day it made for a very unpleasant night's sleep.Breakfast was a shambles, no staff for at least 15mins, guests helping themselves to whatever was left. Couple of sausages and cold egg. No bread to toast. Given the impression they had no staff available. I usually look forward to a hotel breakfast but this was awful!!The only plus about this hotel is the location.Overall very overpriced and disappointed with the stay, won't recommend and will never stay again!

Lovely hotel. Very clean rooms. Bathroom was clean but had a cheap shower curtain which lost ppints with me. The location was good. Parking is in a multi storey 10 min walk away. Close to the shops, river, an cathedral wear comfy shoes! The breakfast was lovely, only one girl taking orders to the kitchen an she was rushed off her feet. Reception staff where friendly. I would stay here again.
