This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Everything about the trip was amazing. From the initial hike into the jaw-dropping Snowdonia Mountains scattered with alpine lakes and waterfalls, to the exploration and history lessons of the actual mine itself, you are truly immersed into an integral part of Wales’ culture. The company that runs Deep Sleep, Go Below Underground Adventures, is a well-established, credible, adventure company that employs passionate and knowledgeable guides. As travelers from the US, the logistics required to make this trip a reality were a bit complicated, but well worth it!

AMAZING EXPERIENCEThis is a "must do" for any adventurer.The team are fantastic and very professional, from the booking to the actual activity. My groups TL was Janine who's knowledge and enjoyment for the role comes through in how she presents the saftey briefs and leads the group through the mine.The activities are great and set well for a range of experince/confidence levels. The saftey features are also very impressive as they are provided where needed but don't hinder the adventure feeling of the event.The food and accommodation are also very impressive for being underground, and very very welcome after the trek. Thanks to Amanda for preparing it all for our arrival.I will definitely be taking part in this again, and the other activies offered by Go Below.Thank you so much to the team for a great sleep and experience.

Had such a great time at Deep Sleep in their Grotto. Worth every penny and such good value. Janine was our guide and she was brilliant; funny, knowledgeable and clearly very safe! Surprisingly good amenities down there too. 10/10 - everyone should book on!

What can I say! This was one of the most amazing things I have ever done. For full transparency, I was lucky enough to join a test trip before Deep Sleep opened but I was absolutely gob-smacked by it anyway! I found the trip down into the mine quite physically challenging but manageable, really interesting and exciting too - definitely a touch out of my comfort zone. The trip leader was great though, reassuringly cool and steady.The landscape in the mine is awe-inspiring, vast caverns, tunnels - all created years ago by miners - just incredible to think about. When we arrived at Deep Sleep I was blown away by it. Just imagining how they built it, all the way down there is mind-blowing.We had a really enjoyable supper (expedition meals but good ones - I had the Orzo Bolognese!) , sitting round the table chatting to Miles who was happy to answer questions about the build and had a lot of entertaining stories to tell.I slept in the grotto - it was lovely and definitely would recommend it for a romantic occasion. Obviously the mine is quite cool but once I was in bed, I was soon cosy and slept really well. The toilet facilities were fine too - I'd wondered about this but turned out there was no need to worry about it.If you're even thinking about this, I would say DO IT! I was buzzing for days afterwards and even now, just thinking about it again, I feel the same excitement.
