Great location for cycling on traffic free roads with lots of picturesque villages to visit. Our host went beyond the call of the call of duty to make our stay comfortable. Would definitely go back.

We didn't actually get to stay at the hotel due to unforeseen circumstances but I felt it necessary to write a review because of the way the host went above and beyond trying to accommodate us. I would have no hesitation rebooking The Village Inn and hope to do so in the not too distant future. Thank you Scott!

I got stuck on a train for HOURS just south of Carstairs due to trees on the line, fire, faulty lines etc -I was with my baby and in the end rail replacement buses were going from Carstairs where we were essentially dumped. Having family nearby I left the journey and came to the pub for a pint and to feed, change the bebe and be in the warm. The landlady (whose name I didn't get woops!) and Tessie the dog provided beer, mini chedders and some much needed chat. Absolute best of moments on a difficult day. Thank you!
