It's very close to the main station. The room and bed are very clean. The staff at the front desk are also very friendly and can help solve any problems. There is no elevator, so those traveling alone with large suitcases need to consider their arm strength:)

Super friendly contact with S. before booking. Booking made easy by phone. Personal welcome extremely warm and friendly 🫶🏻😁 Central and yet quite quiet (5 minutes walk to Essen main station). Super clean and modern. Comfortable mattresses on the beds and clean bed linen/towels. Showers/bathrooms very spacious and clean. Equipped with hairdryer.Each bed has two lights and socket and USB charging ports. Unfortunately there were no lockable cupboards in my room.Shared kitchen stocked with everything your heart desires and cozy with lots of space and sparkling clean!I felt very comfortable, would stay here again if I was in Essen and would definitely recommend it👍🏻VG T.

I stayed there for one night for a business trip in room 4.4 (double room with private bathroom) and was super happy. Everything was clean and very friendly staff. WiFi was also very good. Good walking distance to the train station. No elevator available. So tip: very tasty Italian restaurant right next door!

Overall, the hostel is good and comfortable, the cleanliness is good, and the reception is good, but!!This is the second time I have stayed at the hostel.The first time, everything was good and comfortable, and I hardly faced any issues.However, the second time, when I wanted to check in, I asked the receptionist to give me the bed sheets in the evening, and he told me where I would find them when I arrive later.But to my surprise, when I arrived, they were not in the place he mentioned.So I tried to contact them to ask for someone to bring me bed sheets, but no one answered.I tried reaching out through messages on the Booking.com app and by calling the number listed on Google and in the Booking.com app, but still, no one responded.As a result, I had to sleep on the bed without those sheets—I used a cover from the bed next to mine as a pillowcase and as a towel.When I went down in the morning to check out, the reception staff had not arrived yet.Anyway, I took a short walk and returned to the hostel, and the receptionist was there.I told him what had happened, but I didn’t feel like he cared at all—in fact, quite the opposite.He told me that the room I stayed in,which was supposed to accommodate four people, was empty, and I was the only guest there.While it's true I was the only guest in the room, that has nothing to do with the issue. It felt like he was trying to tell me that I should overlook what happened because I was "lucky" to have the room to myself.Room bookings are not based on that logic but rather on demand and the availability of beds.In any case, this is what happened, and I hope the hostel management reviews the situation and takes appropriate action.Thank you.

With 50 young people and leaders from Oslo Soul Teens on tour, the hostel was exactly what we needed. Central, new, clean, and most importantly - very pleasant and service-oriented owner and staff. The place is highly recommended.

One of the best I've been to. A large hall with sofas, there is even a kitchen, well equipped with everything you need. Everything was clean, the bathroom in the room was also clean, also went into the shared bathroom and to my surprise it was very spacious and also clean. And the location is simply the best, 3 minutes from the station and the center, where there are a lot of shops and restaurants. This hostel shows that they work for people. It was nice to be there.

Amazing!One of the best hostels I´ve ever been to and I have seen a lot.Beds are very comfortable and you still have a privacy feeling.Bathrooms and the showers are exceptional, very clean and each shower is actually a separate bathroom so you can have all the privacy you need.If there are any additional arrangaments you need staff is very reachable even outside the working hours, especially regarding a later check-in.Loved it

In itself great for a few nights or a short trip. The women's room is particularly suitable. Unfortunately I have to say that the rooms could be cleaner. And there are no lockable cupboards at least in one of the rooms.Otherwise it is in a great location and the shared kitchen is great for cooking.

The location is very good as it takes about 5 minutes walk from Essen station. The room was clean. The shared kitchen is equipped with pots, knives, and cutting boards, so you can cook with ingredients you bought at the supermarket. The problem is that the staff is only available from 8am to 12pm and from 4pm to 8pm (August 2024). You need to prepare in advance to make sure you can arrive at that time.
