Location is off the charts incredible. Really off the beaten track and stunning walks and scenery. The evening ocean out of every window is breathtaking. Food is also very good. Our issues are with the price of food and service. …

Our second time staying at Gara Rock and the location does not disappoint. The hotel is nice, but I feel it needs some TLC in places.Food in the fine dining restaurant is fantastic and the food in the Gara kitchen is very good but some more healthy options with the Gara Kitchen menu would be great. The pizza kitchen is very good. Some of the people who work there have great customer service, but others I'm afraid do not.Dogs welcome with great walks to Mill Bay and a lovely short boat ride over to Salcombe.

Good but not outstanding. Amazing food, but limited choice. Very friendly staff (apart from Gilly on reception). Good facilities but limited of the weather if bad. Cleanliness is a bit of issue. …

Great Terrace with wonderful views, really good lunch, blankets against the wind! We were served exceptional pizzas and salads. I suspect the restaurant is very good on the back of their walk in lunch offering.

Location is fantastic. Room was great too, with a few minor touches would have given this 5 stars. Service when having dinner in the evening was some of the worst I've experienced anywhere however. Everything was slow. Starter arrived before drinks. When drinks did arrive they were wrong. Took an age to take dirty plates away. No one asked if our food was okay. Waitress asked us if we wanted to see a desert menu and then forgot to bring us one so we left as had taken over 2 hours just to have a starter and main. It wasn't even busy so god knows what it's like if it is. For somewhere so expensive and seemingly high end I expected a lot better
