Check-in staff was great all around, polite, and informative. They offered us extra fans if needed, which is huge as Scotland can get hot without air con. It seems they frequently rent out the restaurant below the hotel, so expect to receive a discount for another bar (very nearby). There's parking behind the hotel, but it desperately needs a little clean up, some lights and cctv (we parked out front and risked the ticket). Beds were mostly comfortable. Our 'triple' room was spacious compared to the other 3 person rooms we've stayed in Scotland.Overall, with price in mind, we would stay again.

We stayed one night on our way further north. Room was tiny and the bed against the wall wasn't level, the pillow end being lower so not a great night's sleep. No bar, we were sent with a discount voucher to their other property for food and drinks, although we noted that the people downstairs for a poker night clearly had drinks. Breakfast included in our late deal was OK but we certainly wouldn't have wanted to pay £13.50 each for it.The hotel is very close to the railway station hence my 3 stars for location, otherwise there's not a lot to say about Dingwall. We certainly didn't fancy parking our car behind the hotel overnight, preferring to risk a parking ticket out front where it was at least in plain sight.

Excellent staff from the owners to the cleaners who are both accommodating and friendly. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. All in all it's excellent value and in a handy location near the shops, train station and bus stop if you fancy going on a trip to Inverness, Strathpeffer, Beauly etc. I have stayed there 3 times and will return. If Youtube and/or Netflix were available on the TV in my room I would add another star but that's a minor detail when the value is so good and the staff are standout. If it's raining there is always a decent bar or bring a book.

Went for lunch and found National on the spur of the moment - although a bit quiet - we were greeted very warmly and was a perfect place for a quiet family lunch. We were in the restaurant, not the bar.Food menu had a good range of items with the quality and quantity amazingly good. Will for sure repeat when we are next staying in the area.

Spent two nights here last minute and was warm and comfortable. In my hurry, I forgot my new electric toothbrush. I called the hotel when I was home and they not only found it but sent it to me via post, which I received the next day. Excellent customer service. Thank you

Spent Hogamany at the hotel with family and friends and had a fantastic time. We were well looked after from the moment we arrived until we left. We had a lovely room which was super clean and homely along with a fantastic evening meal and breakfast. The owners Patricia and Diogo could not have made the stay any better. Thanks for a great stay.

The hotel itself is situated in such a perfect spot for Dingwall, we chose this hotel and location as our starting point for the NC500 as inverness was more pricey for such a small distance! Best choice we did as the nation hotel is such a lovely, quaint cozy yet old hotel to stay in, we stayed here twice on our road trip and both times and both two different hotel rooms were spotless and fantastic for the price they charged with the service! Breakfast in the morning for hot food is limited, but i do believe you can request whatever you want from their menu. I.E eggs and bacon only.Overall lovely place to lay your head down in the small town of Dingwall! Highly recommend!
