The double room I had was huge. The shower was really good. There was a strange smell throughout the property. Really off putting.Check in girl was quite nice, but there was a strange, staring man. Felt a little uncomfortable. I wouldn't stay here again. They also took a picture of my passport, which I didn't like.Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her to delete it when I checked put.

I thought what summed up this place was when I arrived and found the room to be pretty cold, but the radiator not to be working, I went to reception to report a fault, only to be told there was no heating until 9pm! On top of this the room was small and the walls were thin. The bed was poorly made and the sheets weren’t ironed. It’s not that I am fussed about ironed sheets - but I just had a horrible feeling they may not have been changed since the previous guest. The locks didn’t seem very secure either, so I had to make sure not to leave valuables behind.

Room was clean. Was on 4th floor and no lift, so this was a pain with luggage.Shower was clean but the water pressure was terrible and sometimes non existent .Had no milk on tea tray in room for morning brew and reception is only manned at check in times. Bins emptied but little else done in room while we were there.Bed was comfy but very smallOur room was also small.Location was good for train station into Glasgow city centre.Area was run down but bits of it were attractive

Mixed experience here. Double rooms lovely, and quiet. Single rooms near main hotel exit, with a door that slams through the night, and people who chat outside your room. A pity, as the room itself was pleasant. But sleep is sleep!

Arrived to find out they couldn't find booking confirmation, then after numerous phone calls, she took my name and had the confirmation already in her hands! Got to the room, it stunk of cigarettes, supposed to be a non smoking room! The room was very dirty, toe nails on the floor, I had to get the receptionist to get the floor hoovered, there was dust everywhere, the room looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. The towels was used and had poo stains on the towels. The receptionist admitted to me that the room had not been cleaned as they thought it looked clean at a glance! The bed had been changed and that was the cleanest part of the room! Avoid like the plague!

Pros and cons, but mostly consI stayed in a single room.Pros:- cool sliding shower door- Hot water is VERY hot- Convient location to train station and 2 local main streets (lots of cafes, pharmacy, supermarket)Cons- Paper thin walls. I could hear everything said outside my door and every creaky footstep from the person in the room above me. My room was also along the driveway, so I could hear every car coming in and out- “Daily housekeeping” Is not really a thing. In hotels the basic expectation is that dirty cups are swapped for clean ones, tea/coffee replenished, and towels changed if needed. At Crosshill, if you’re in the room when the cleaners happen to come past they ask if you “need anything”, give you what you ask and carry on.- Windows in room are placed in a bad location, so I never felt comfortable opening them. Especially the one in the bathroom, which if opened, everyone could see my entire bathroom!- There’s no fridge, so I couldn’t keep any food in my room which was annoying.Overall:This place isn’t terrible. It was clean enough for me. As someone who stayed in hostels for a while prior, it was nice to have an entire room and bathroom to myself. I do think they need to stop marketing themselves as a hotel because they are basically just a motel - it would save them a lot of unhappy customers. It seems to be a family/friend-run place, and they’re all friendly, especially the man I spoke to who I assumed to be the owner.Would I stay here again? Probably, if it was the cheapest option around (and on this occasion, it was for me). It’s sort of comes down to luck with if you get noisy neighbours at this place.

Please know you will need to hand over a £100 deposit if you stay here which you are not garenteed to get back, its been 3 days and i still have not received this money back. Room was fine but the service and the vibe of the staff was unpleasant i would avoid if possible!

I was surprised to find that the location of the rooms has nothing to do with the picture of the house on the website. Rather, they are located within plain, rectangular buildings that have been added to the back of the actual house. Our room was fine but our friend had one that seemed to be thrown together with leftover pieces of bed and furniture. The reception was a little uncomfortable and she wanted our license, passport and confirmation number. The reception area was in pretty rough shape and, overall, not what we had been accustomed to in our 12 days in Scotland thus far. I will say that the parking in the back was convenient and it is close to a large park. There is also a deck with some picnic tables that overlook a large yard.

Stayed here for two nights whilst attending a family event. Rooms very basic, however the bedding was atrocious. No pillow protectors on pillows, bedding didn’t smell fresh. Had more of a hostel Vibe than a hotel/house. Never saw anybody to complain about pillows, lack of towels etc. Reception was locked every time we went by.
