We stayed for one night and had a lovely experience. Our room was spacious, with beautiful views overlooking the gardens at the back of the hotel. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, allowing us to enjoy a great night’s sleep. There was plenty of wardrobe space to hang our clothes, and the bathroom was well equipped with a generously sized shower and a separate bath.We dined in the hotel restaurant, and the meal was delicious. There was an excellent selection of dishes with great flavours. I also appreciated the staff’s recommendation of a local gin, which was a lovely touch. After dinner, we enjoyed a quick stroll through the gardens, which provided the perfect way to wind down before heading back to our room. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Breakfast the next morning was equally delightful, with a good variety of options.Overall, this is a fantastic hotel in a charming location, and I’d love to return for another visit.

Great place to stay. The hotel is conveniently located to explore northern and west. The hotel is located in a historic building with beautiful grounds with Douglas Firs planted by Douglas himself. There is a great hiking trail available right from the hotel. The hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast has a lot of delicious options. The restaurant is opened for dinner as well. We tried salmon. It was delicious. The wine selection is very good as well. The rooms are convenient, spacious and clean. There is plenty of parking on the premises.

Called in for lunch, a return visit for us as we had our Wedding here in 2016. Same owner and friendly staff all remembered us. The food was excellent and we decided that we would return whilst on holiday in the area. Took our friends for an evening meal and the food was really good and we all enjoyed our evening immensely.

Stopped for lunch on the way back from the Hebrides. Excellent, old fashioned service, we felt very spoiled and valued as customers. Delicious food and wonderful ambience. The building and grounds are from a time gone by. The history of the building is all around, on the paintings on the walls. A real Downton experience and value for money. We cannot recommend this gem highly enough and we will make it a fixture on our calendar for future holidays. Thank you.

We found a large and comfortable room. Outstanding water pressure to clean up in time to enjoy a cocktail before dinner. We enjoyed perfectly prepared steak served by their friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended.

This charming hotel is delightful in every way and so very comfortable. The rich interior historical decorations are fascinating as are the incredible grounds; so many different trees and plants to see! And let’s not forget the rabbits and horses! Early mornings on the back patio are truly magical! I was only here for two days and during that time, I felt truly at home. The staff are truly special. My only regret was that I wasn’t able to stay longer in this special place.

What a great place to stay. The best part was the service which makes everything else special. The duty managers who I learnt have been working there for 19 seasons were so attentive and friendly and brilliant at their jobs. Dinner was also amazing again I believe the chef has been there for a while and it reflects in the beautiful food. All the wait staff as well were amazing and so polite. All boutique hotels and general hotels should learn something from this place in how to run a hotel. Oh yes and also close to the beautiful Rogie falls which you can walk to from the hotel.
