Fantastic Stay at the Isle of Mull Hotel and SpaWe had a wonderful time at the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa. The facilities were great—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained—and the location offered stunning views and beautiful walking paths, perfect for getting out and enjoying nature. However, what really made our stay exceptional was the staff. They were absolutely fantastic, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were especially great with our kids, always friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more memorable. We highly recommend this hotel for families looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

I personally don't think that the previous very poor reviews are fair based on our experience. The staff and manager were very friendly and accommodating. I gather from speaking to the manager that he has taken over only recently so perhaps the previous team were at fault. Our room was very comfortable and all the facilities worked fine, the shower took a couple of minutes to get properly warm and the TV reception is a bit poor but that is the same all over the island. Our meal and cream tea, which was included in the Spa package was excellent, however our dog is not allowed in the main restaurant, which is fair. The hot tub in the Spa is out of action but the Sauna, steam room, pool and spa related service were good. The pool is shared with the local community which I think is a good thing and hotel guests should not be such snobs. Guests get their own changing rooms anyway. All in all a fine experience.

In reality falls short of expectations. ||Staff are lovely, but the only thing trying to uphold the 4 star rating this place has. ||Food is incredibly overpriced for what it is, it is pub grub at best. …

Hotel is in great location, traditional and has good facilities. Our room was on the lower level which meant going down 2 flights of stairs then along a corridor and up about 8 stairs . No lift so could be issues for some people. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Enjoyed a very happy stay here with the family. The hotel itself has a good vibe and retro decor, with very friendly staff. The restaurant serves up good food with excellent service. Lovely to have a kid friendly pool on site and wish we had time for the spa. Lovely grounds with walks through the woods and down to the beach.

I hate to leave such a negative review, but sadly our visit to the hotel and spa left much to be desired. To start, the hotel shuttle is out of service, but we were not informed of this before our arrival. It is not a far walk from the ferry to the hotel, but when dragging luggage across an uneven sidewalk in the pouring rain, the experience is miserable. We found it truly shocking, especially for a 4-star hotel, to not have arranged an alternative shuttle service. Second, while the spa is considered “separate” from the hotel, they none the less are a package deal. Unfortunately, the pool area was extremely dirty. Both the pool and showers had grime growing and many of the chairs and cushions were broken and tattered. Upon our arrival, we went for a swim in the pool and promptly turned around due to the grime. Finally, our room was the best part of our stay, but was also not without issue. As others have noted in their reviews, our room had an odd odor, stained carpet, and zero water pressure; I could barely wash my hair with how little water was trickling from the shower head. Our TV also wasn’t working. For a fairly expensive 4-star hotel, we were extremely disappointed in our stay and would not recommend the hotel and spa to other travelers. There are so many beautiful vacation homes and B&Bs that seem a better alternative on the isle. Pros: the bed was comfortable, the view was pretty, and the bar food was decent! My husband also enjoyed his massage.

I'll start with the bad to inform future guests.Room 70 should not be charged the same price (£230 per night!!) as the other standard double rooms. It is dark and dingy like a bunker, and the furthest room requiring walking up and down two double flights of stairs & through several doors which with your luggage is difficult. I flagged that a closer room was required due to personal reasons and was told it was not possible (despite a long queue of people not yet checked in after us)The TV didn't work. The smoke alarm went off after a shower because its too close to a windowless bathroom. There aren't drawers or wardrobes so you must live out of a suitcase. The breakfast is super basic for £20 a head. We asked for slight adjustments to the menu for health reasons (egg over easy) and was told the chef would be annoyed by the request so it put me off asking the next day.The pool is NOT spa like, it's a community pool and could do with a serious freshen up. Spa facilities are not included in the price. All in all this stay was not worth £700 for 3 nights!!!The good - the location is of course breathtaking. The lady who runs the breakfast is fab, as is the male waiter who runs the bar meals. The bar food was good.
