This was our experience.||The location, in Llangollen was amazing, the views of the bridge over the river Dee was amazing. The hotel ground floor offers plenty of views through windows overlooking the rapids. …

Spent 5 nights at the Chain bridge Hotel and honestly cannot fault it. Dee, the General Manager was very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay and always had time for a chat and to give recommendations for days out. …

Stayed here for a 2 night break. Room was small but had a balcony that offered great views of the river and bridge. Breakfast was limited in choice to other hotels that I have stayed in but was very good and mostly cooked to order. The meals served for lunchtime and evening were from the same menu but there was a good choice. The location of the hotel is fantastic as it is on the side of the river Dee and the canal on the other side. Llangollen is about a 30 - 40 min walk along the canal. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely location with a variety of rooms to suit all. Had a meal in the hotels restaurant and it was fab. The staff are amazing and the lady on reception is a delight she even served in the evening for the meals. Breakfast in the morning was continental with lots of variety hot and cold. Beautiful place to visit with beautiful surroundings and the river Dee right beside it. Not far from Llangollen town either. Definately recommend. Thanks Chainbridge staff keep up the fab work 👍

Stayed here mid September for a Welsh getaway. Accidentally parked in the secondary car park upon arrival and had to lug a heavy suitcase down slippery and uneven metal stairs with holes leading over a canal in the rain. Only upon bringing our cass down that we realised that there was a car park much closer.Main car park was quite tight located between a river on one side and a canal on the other and spaces were limited, but not much they can do about that.Junior suite we had booked was excellent for it's size and furniture. Bathroom was very well decorated and the room was very clean. Excellent view of the river and windows could shut out the noise if needed (the sound of the river is very relaxing)Stayed at the hotel for dinner the first night and found the hospitality to be lacking. No drinks menu, a wine menu was available upon request but seems that they were quite scarce as it wasn't left on table and had to look at menu, order immediately and have it taken away. For other drinks we were told we had to walk around to the bar to check.Cooked breakfast was quite sparse in what it offered. (Only tomatoes, scrambled egg, sausage, bacon and hash brown) And was only allowed 1 of each. Not good enough for the price of a junior suite.Overall the room was perfect both inside and the view however other areas of the stay were quite lacking and needed a lot of work.

The venue / restaurant is situated in the most beautiful place. It is warm & friendly & the service was great. Our only down side was the meal was very average. There were 3 diners & all meals were not reflective of the otherwise very special location

Setting fantastic, evening meal good and room small but comfy with amazing view, staff also friendly. Breakfast though was poor. Disorganised set up made it a bun fight, ran out of key food like bread for toast and slow to replace, hot food was lukewarm at best. A bit more care and it could be a better breaky experience.

Wish I had known more in advance of booking. Spent 2 nights here in a junior suite with a fabulous view of the Dee and the bridges. All rather quaint. The room was clean and comfortable, decorated in period. Food was good and reasonably priced. Did have an issue with a gigantic spider in the room (we'll call him Dave), but he kept to his corner of the room and we kept to ours. Wifi and cell service is sporadic (it's nice to be that disconnected sometimes) and the parking lot is initially a bit tricky to find, as is parking once you do find it. But if those are the types of things that wind you up, then it's probably not the type of hotel you want. It's a great place to relax and unwind.
