What a great spot! Perfect service from start to finish- thanks especially to Murray at the desk and Jake at the bar! It's a bit like staying on an old and very well appointed ship. Yes the rooms are small, but who is spending that much time in their hotel room on a city vacation??? The bed was very comfortable, there were plenty of outlets in the right places, and everything was spotless. Those things are great to have, but you can find them at any mid-range hotel. What sets this place apart is the service. NEXT LEVEL. We felt so welcome from the very first minute, and by day two, it was as if we were staying at the home of good friends who anticipated and catered to every need. It's the best hotel service I have experienced in years, even at places 3x this price point. Bravo, House of Gods Edinburgh! We will be back!

This was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! Staff was responsive, the room had a great atmosphere, and the location was perfect. The space was a bit small, but even with all of our luggage we didn't feel cramped. …

We loved The House of Gods hotel! All the staff were so lovely and helpful, couldn't do enough for you. The room decor was decadent. The extra's of Prosecco, cocktails, chocolates, balloons, rose petals are all so worth the upgrade! …

Love it, great experience and the cocktails were very nice with an amazing presentation, including the menu. Remember to book in advance. I didn’t stay in the hotel, only the cocktail bar. Worthy to come and treat yourself with an Expresso Martini. And it was cheaper than other cocktail bars in Edinburgh, despite how fancy it looks.

I also fell for the marketing & stylish website, like others have described. The rooms are indeed little dark, windowless cabins, as if you are on an old, opulent sailing ship. The rooms & halls are dark and a bit creepy, and you can easily get lost in the maze of hallways if your sense of direction is not strong. To be honest, I don’t think I was in the target demographic for this type of hotel… I felt a bit out of place as if I were not “cool enough” to be there, not through any staff interactions but as a “normal” tourist. The room overall is designed well enough for 1 or 2 nights, “sexy” mood lighting, air conditioning, TV integrated into the mirror, hidden mini-bar, etc. Comfortable double bed, but small if you’re used to a king. Air conditioning worked well for us. Not a fan of “wet room” style bathrooms and if I had known I might not have booked, but it was very clean, easy to wipe down the water, and the shower curtain looked fresh. The staff & service was very welcoming and helpful, you got the boutique-style attention despite its size. Liked their approach to contact via WhatsApp, most effective use of it I’ve ever experienced (big hotels often send an automated message but nothing else). You can tell there’s a real human on the other side!So for me, it was a shock at first since it wasn't what we expected based on the marketing, but we came to appreciate many elements of the hotel by the time we checked out.

Arrived yesterday and staff were very friendly and welcoming! However the place is very dark and can easily get lost in the corridors, actually seemed a bit seedy ! Not what we expected at all!  …
