Friendly helpful service and good food. It wasn't busy, which I like. I had a burger which was delicious and the chips were really good. The fish and chips looked good as well as the caesar salad. They make good coffees too. |The hotel itself is beautiful and in a gorgeous setting.

Despite only living 15 minutes from this pub we've never been in before. We decided to try a steak midweek. What a lovely place. It has a great snug bar as you walk in, with a nice clean restaurant area round the back. …

My 90yo father-in-law grew up in East Linton so my wife and I plus our two adult kids visited as a family today and ate here - had the Sunday special where you get dessert on top of main course for just an extra quid. All the meals were lovely but special mention for the chunky chips which were super crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the outside. Quite frankly, I've never had better. The steak pies were tasty and the chocolate fudge cake was superb. Very friendly service. Would come back often if we didn't live on the other side of the planet ;-)

We were really impressed with the friendly staff and service. As a family with two young children we were welcomed and children’s meals and menus were great. The food was lovely we both enjoyed the steak pie, lots of meat. Can highly recommend.

Stayed for one night. Not a welcoming reception. Very rushed at breakfast. Room very small, carpet old and worn, shower - a miserable warm dribble. Having walked all day we were most looking forward to a good shower. Sent feedback direct to hotel but no response. I wouldn't recommend the hotel or revisit myself.

Disappointing. Room was very outdated , terrible mattress , shower no water pressure , asked twice for repair but nothing changed. For sure not worth the money ! Restaurant, listed as one of the best steakhouses , just very average. Sirloin ordered medium but served well done and with fat fries .. sorry I have had much better in less “famous “ places. Will not stay again

Only went for food. Food was good, service was spotty. One bathroom was out of order the other was impossible to flush. Upstairs was stale and silent. Made it feel awkward to talk as a group. There is an lovely patio hiding up there though. Can't do takeaway of your meal

Stayed for a night for traveling back to the South. The beds are among the worst I have slept on - please invest into some new mattresses! The room in general was clean. The shower had almost no water pressure. Be aware that the hotel is next to the railway and until midnight trains will pass regularly. Breakfast was decent, but the room was freezing cold.
