We had an amazing time at this hotel! Right from the start, the place smelled great and the staff were super friendly. We were offered cups of coffee while we waited to check in, which was a nice touch. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Everything felt fresh and clean, from the bed to the bathroom. It was clear they take good care of the place.Overall, it was a really cozy and pleasant stay. We felt welcomed and relaxed the whole time. we’d definitely love to come back and stay here again!

As soon as we arrived we were immediately made to feel welcome and at home in this hotel, brilliant service from Alex & Liam who looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was neat and tidy on arrival and it came stocked with tea, coffee and sugar. The hotel is located in the middle of Castle Douglas and close to lots of shops, cafés and other local areas to explore. Would definitely recommend this hotel and we'll be back again

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at! There was no staff ao you have to call to check in and wait 30 mins on the phone. The corridor smells really bad. The room was awful the bedding dirty wuth marks on, the bath had all black bits in and the toilet was really dirty even the walls of the bedroom had dirt marks all over. The corridors have no light and are very dangerous.

I stayed at the Douglas Arms Hotel in early August, and it has been a nightmare ever since. After paying for my room upfront, the hotel charged me an additional £180 2 days later without my authorization. …

I booked at the last minute so there was not much choice available in the area but I thought that for £74 for a night, for a double room, it must be reasonable. There was no food available at the hotel and that meant no breakfast. …

Utter disgrace of a place! Leaking showers, baths walls. I'm the neighbouring pet shop underneath. I've had leaks coming into the shop and only yesterday 2nd September an almighty flood causing thousands of pounds of damage to my stock and premises. Yet still to recieve insurance details which they are claiming to be confidential which is utter bull considering they will have 3rd party insurance on the building that's if they even have building insurance. The owner of multiple hotels doesn't even stay in his own hotels what does that tell you? Only opened in November 2023 and had nothing but problems. The ceiling is damaged, water coming in the walls and then the gush of waste water (yuk) coming into my shop and all over my stock. Horse feed aswell. Avoid at all costs, there are much nicer well kept premises that actually take pride in the appearance and stance. What was once a thriving busy local hotel and bar is now a run down building with nothing but issues.

Avoid! The place is falling to pieces. Car park looks like things fall down regularly. Main door is locked - we had to phone Kettering to get a code to get in. Nobody on reception and bell didn't work. …
